Boiler was not registered at time of installation - what can I do?

We had a boiler installed 2011 by a gas safe engineer, paid him and he gave us a hand written certificate. Now we are selling only to find the boiler was not registered, tried contacting him as he is still on the gas safe register. Said he would register it but hasn't done so yet and now won't answer his phone or emails. Buyers want it registered. How can we get this done?
It is a Ferroli Optimax. It has a 5 year warranty with Ferroli, that bit is ok. Gas Safe say because the engineer did not notify the installation with Gas Safe I now have to go to Building Control, which will cost loads, I expect all because the fitter won't notify it for a few quid.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
Leave a message stating that you will report him to gas safe unless he sorts your problem out, this will not be too good for him when he tries to re register next time. What type of boiler did you have fitted?
you will probably find that the warranty is subject to the boiler being serviced every 12 months from date of installation if you do not ferroli will not honour the warranty as they did with mine.our ferroli optimax he31 is/ sorry was the biggest heap of crap I have ever had the missfortune to be involved withwas only fitted in 2009 and house being empty for 1 year have recently ripped it out and replaced it with an ideal boikler, hope you have more luck than me, regards Terry.
You state the boiler is not registered; did you contact the manufacturer to determine this?
If so, then they will register the boiler warranty from any remaining time left from when it was installed assuming it has any warranty left.
Or if the installer advised you himself, then just simply phone the manufacturer and ask for 'boiler registration' and state the boiler installation is the date of your phone call to them, obtain the installers Gas Safe registration number as they may require this also the boiler serial number too. Officially all boiler registrations are the responsibility of the owner, but I carry this out as good customer relations.
Hope this helps.
