laminate flooring ontop of Parque flooring

20 Matching Questions - I would like to put laminate ontop of existing Parque floor. Which underlay is recommended inorder to avoid trapping moisture and allow the laminate to bulge or squick when people walk on it

Really it's a big no no as the parque can sweat underneath. Take the old flooring up then put a underlay down then laminate down.

Unfortunately the parquet flooring does need to be removed and possibly a smoothing compound and Dpm (damp proof membrane) may be required depending on the relative humidity readings that should always be taken before installing a wood floor.
The reasons for this is that
future moisture problems can occur because your trapping everything under the laminate
The parquet can come lose too giving you a less solid subfloor which can cause the laminate to spread ( gap )

This is not a good idea as the floor will most likely pop due to moisture.
