Sewer Diversion (Minor Manhole Diversion) Yorkshire Water

Anonymous user 23/02/2024 - 2.44 PM

We are wanting to move our exsisting manhole to the new location which is outside my extension wall, we have put an application through to yorkshire water but they have rejected it saying the only option is to move the manole to the left or right of our extension leaving a 1 metere gap from my garden wall. Is Yorkshire Water right or wrong? Also are we allowed to build above the manhole aprox. 1metre. because yorkshire water have refused this as well.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

We work in the United Utilities area and this is advice that they also give so I would say they are right. In some areas if it is not possible to accommodate the re-positioning on site, then for small extensions you can sometimes build over the manhole providing you put in an inspection chamber. Although if they have refused this as well then you will have to go with what they say. Louise UK Property Services
