What type of roof shall I get?

Anonymous user 01/03/2024 - 2.48 PM

I have similar quotes for fibre glass and felt roof. What is the best one to get? And why would I choose 3 layers rather than 2?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It all depends on where you are i normally push for felt roofs because with grp if any moisture gets in between layers it can cause problems where as with felt you are burning away any moisture as you lay the roll. always go with three layers as the first layer should be nailed to allow for movement or a perforated layer which will mean second layer is partially bonded again allowing for movement. your second layer is the main water proofing layer and the mineral is another water proofing layer but also for show. Hope this helps Many Regards Aaron M Baldry

If both quotes are similar in cost the choose fibreglass; if installed correctly then it will outlast any felt covering by years.
