I spoke to Jason a couple of nights before he carried out the work. We agreed that the bathroom would be boarded along one full wall, the odd board on another couple of walls and the ceiling overboarded. In addition to this the wall around the window needed skimming. I already had boards (which don’t cost a fortune) and bonding so all Jason needed to supply, as per his confirmation text message, was everything else. Once the work was ‘completed’ he asked me for the £330 quoted as cash in hand , my face must have said it all, because he started to explain the first customer of the day pays for a full day to cover his wages and his son’s wages!!! So if you hire this guy people, make sure he completes the work in the afternoon. As Jason left my husband came home and witnessed the state of the bathroom, as promised the overboarding (Jason ended up using his own boards as he said the ones I had were bowing) had been done but not a single spot of plaster touched the wall around the window. If I could upload photos on to here I really would. My husband contacted him, there were a few choice words, Jason’s son then became involved and it all got really heated. Long and short of it, they admitted they’d shafted me and offered a partial refund……. Still waiting for said part refund!!
