I don't know where to start but all I can say AVOID AVOID this company, they are scammers. Someone in the name of Richard Barret from Domestic Home Refurb nothing to do with this account will contact you just to scam you. I paid £5,550 as a 50% deposit for a refurb of a small 2 bedroom terraced house. After 12 weeks, I have now been left with a disaster (pictures attached), all they did was strip off and a bit of plasters upstairs. They've told me the job will take 4 weeks, I gave them 6 weeks and we both signed the contract agreement stating £30 a day if not completed on time. After 12 weeks of job no being completed I decided to terminate the contract and requested a refund of £2,700 plus 43 days no completion days of £1,290, they've refused to pay. I even reduced it for immediate payment of £2,000 so I can pay my new builders, still they refused to pay. I am now considering taking legal action against Daniel Thornton whom my builder suggested to take to court.They are scammers avoid

Turned up on time, worked hard to get the job done. Did a decent job and cleaned up after themselves. Would recommend and will be using them in the future for other work.

Do not hire these people. Crap work, no communication, job not finished, just walked off the job because they completely f***ed it up and have not bothered to put it right. I have to completely re do my bathroom because of their incompetence and rubbish work. Left with just a toilet and a bucket for 2 weeks. Plasterer amateurish at best. Work they have done absolutely useless. Tiler useless, wouldn’t tile unless I paid him direct as this company hadn’t paid him for weeks. Plasterer the same. I CANNOT STATE THIS MORE CLEARLY…..DO NOT, PLEASE DO NOT, HIRE THIS COMPANY. I have supporting photos if anyone wishes to see.

The whole experience has been frustrating and extremely disappointing. Overall I am happy with the kitchen fit but the finish to most of the plaster work leaves much to be desired. The original timetable would have seen the job finish on 4th Nov but am still waiting for gas hob to be installed, due 20th Dec. The rubbish was left in the garden for over 6 weeks, not in the quoted skip, which not only broke the solar lights but has left the garden in a worse state than it was before. The original plasterers did not finish the work and the quality of what was done was extremely poor. They also managed to walk over my old leather armchair which I couldn’t get upstairs, wreck the blinds at my front window and turn my fridge freezer off for 48 hours ruining the contents. I do not believe I have ever met Daniel Thornton, all works were poorly organised by a man called Richard which is different again to the name on the invoice M Barrett. My decision was not based on price but on MyBuilder rating which had more reviews and a higher rating than others. My experience does not reflect that rating and they will not be invited back for further work. All damages, lights, freezer contents, have been compensated for.

The work completed was of a high standard and the workmen were pleasant and polite and very helpful. Richard was particularly understanding and helpful. It took somewhat longer than I had hoped before they could start but Richard kept me aware of this and about changes to when they were or were not coming to the property. I am very pleased with the work and the speed of completion once they had started and would happily recommend them as reliable builders who do what you ask of them. I have previously had a very unfortunate and expensive experience with a different firm and am therefore delighted to be re-assured that it is possible to get builders who are decent hard working individuals who do the job as agreed.

Great price amazing team! Professional from the start to finish... amazed with the work done and explained all processes. Worth every pound and cleaned up post construction..Will definitely use again in the coming future

Nice job done from start to finish full bathroom reinstall

Dan and his colleague did a major refurbishment of our bathroom - bath, shower enclosure, toilet, basin, flooring, wall cladding. They did a great job in quick time and the bathroom is transformed. Two nice guys for whom nothing was too much trouble, pleasant and courteous. Will use them again.

Richard and his team are first class. Richard was enthusiastic and nothing was to much trouble. He had lots of great ideas when giving us a quote for our job and helped guide us in what was the best way forward for what we wanted in our bathroom. His team turned up early and got straight on with the work. They were also very respectful, polite, tidy and accommodating. He did the complete revamp of my bathroom quicker than even I expected and his work is immaculate. His organisation and project management is fantastic and you can tell he is quality and very experienced. I would have no hesitation in hiring him again and do recommend him to anyone. Having had many builders in to do similar projects he is by far the best and I feel blessed to have had such a great tradesmen complete our work and take care of us. Cheers Richard

Richard and Dan did a fantastic job! We hired them to do our kitchen and I am so pleased with the outcome. Nothing was a problem for them, they even picked up some bits for us when deliveries went a bit wrong. Everything went along seamlessly and the kitchen was complete in a great time scale. We couldn't believe how quick and how hard they worked! I would highly recommend them and would absolutely hire them again for a job in the future.
