    Gas appliance installation

    Rob was prompt, reliable, obviously sincere and honest - my tenants said he was friendly and sorted out the job well. Only little bit of feedback was he was a bit disorganised and forgot to do the gas safety check, but that was only a minor issue! thanks would use again.

    Gas Boiler Service

    Robert Blair turned up for the job but felt that the boiler was so old it needed to be replaced. I am now exploring options regarding replacement.

    Boiler service/repair

    Robert and Colin turned up exactly on time, quickly diagnosed and fixed problem and with the minimum of fuss. Very pleased to have had my problem sorted out so swiftly.

    Boiler service

    Rob came to service my boiler and within seconds of taking off the boiler cover, took a carbon monoxide reading which he said was 'very high' and that he would have to disconnect my boiler. I said that I needed the hot water and heating since it was the middle of winter so he agreed to give me a warning notice instead. He then said I should get a new boiler, at a cost of around £1000 plus labour etc. This was all pretty scary and unexpected, especially as I have a working carbon monoxide detector alarm which sits on the boiler and has never gone off. I got a second opinion from another tradesman from Mybuilder.com who said that Rob should have at least completed the service and then taken another reading which he didn't. The second tradesman was here for over an hour doing the full boiler service and showed me the CO reading which he said was well within safety limits. As a result I can't help feeling ripped off by Rob and uneccesarily frightened.

    Answer from tradesperson:

    I noticed the flue elbow clamp was damaged. My gas flue analyser reading showed carbon monoxide levels to be dangerously high. I advised boiler was unsafe and even a full strip down and service might not fix this, advised option of new boiler. Customer in a hurry to get to work and did not want me to carry out work there and then. She would not let me cut off gas supply so I issued a warning notice. Stated she would phone me back, which she did not, and I tried to contact her unsuccessfully over 2 weeks. When I did get through she said she was in a hurry and that she would speak to me later, which she did not. She is welcome to a refund, however I would not be prepared to take work from this customer again.

    Replacement Boiler Pipe and MDF Carpentry Job

    central heating system

    Job: fitting themostatic valves to radiators, boiler check. £100 excl materials Knowledgeable, Job done well. Helpful when phoned him a few weks later. Glad I don't have carpet though as would have been soaked.

    Moving a radiator
    100% positive feedback for Robert. He came along and did an initial inspection of the project, fixing a couple of other small problems we had while he was here. Then came back a couple of weeks later once the replacement radiator had arrived and did a great job removing the old one and replacing with the new. He had to lift the carpet and floorboards to complete the work and although I was a bit worried about this leaving a mess, you honestly wouldn't have known he'd been there unless someone told you it was that tidy! He was polite and thorough and I'd have no reservations recommending or hiring him again.

    Replace Heating and hot water control panel
    Rob and Colin arrived and assessed the job. They then went away to get the parts and were back and completed everything within two hours. Efficient and tidy.
