Rick contacted me immediately I had put my request on mybuilder.com.He came out within 24 hours and sent an acceptable quote through a few days later.He is very knowledgeable and proud of his work.Always punctual and hard working .The front wall looks amazing,Rick recommended the type of brick to use.I would happily recommend Rick and his co worker Tom and will definitely use him for any future projects. Rick and Tom are exceptional young men, with a passion for what they do and an excellent professionalism. I see them both as 'heritage' builders and are glad that they are here to protect what has gone before. My cottage is nothing grand but has survived the 'cull' of the sixties and was in need of restoration work, which they carried out to an exceptional standard. The gable end now looks as it did in the 19th century when first built. Rick was accommodating on dates, stuck to the quote despite running over by a day, and always courteous and knowledgeable. A complete joy and am extremely pleased that I decided to use his services.

This was a difficult job. A garden wall built in Victorian times had fallen down between two Victorian houses. It is in a conservation area, so my neighbour and I were keen to use original materials if possible. In addition we have a mature garden and were anxious to minimise disruption to the garden. Rick was the third builder we had approached and he viewed the project with enthusiasm. The wall was cut back to a stable position and the original bricks were cleaned and the wall rebuilt with lime mortar. He is a perfectionist and would not lay old bricks in lime mortar if it was raining or if the temperature was too low. The result has been excellent. In addition he is helpful, polite and tidy. I would highly recommend him and would unhesitatingly use him again. In fact I have a couple of projects in the New Year that I would like him to undertake. Finally, I thought that his prices were very reasonable, given the complexity of the job. A great builder and a great bloke.

I had 4 contractors quote for the job and Ricky's price was very reasonable. From the start to the end Ricky did a professional job. I am very pleased with the finish. The service from R . Hughes construction has been first class and I will be using them for any future projects.

Couldn't be more pleased with the new patio. Work completed to a very good standard, all on time for a fair price. More than likely to call Rick back next Spring to do second half of garden.
