The final product met our expectations, however two of the wrong size windows were ordered initially. As a result, we were left with a piece of glass (smaller than the opening) and a piece of plywood, which didn’t meet together, leaving a gap that compromised the safety of the house. The glass and ply were held in place solely by expanding foam, which in my opinion is unacceptable.
After being without a secure window for almost two weeks, the work was completed. However, the external window cills were left unfinished and messy. This was never discussed during the quotation process, but I would have expected it to be addressed once it became clear that the new cills were shorter than the previous ones.
After great discussion with the fitters (not the owner as he was on holiday), 2 weeks later the cills were completed to a satisfactory level. We are also still to receive the FENSA guarantee certificate and it’s been 3 weeks since completion.
