paint and repair ceiling re leak

Anthony has come to repair the leak relatively quickly. He investigated the leak and said he had fixed it. He painted the ceiling and applied drying material but the leak continued. He did come to assess it post fixing but then admitted to not having been surprised that the leak had continued? This of course leaves the job unfinished as is not fixed completely. It is potentially increasing the cost as well as if it continues to leak the ceiling will have to be re painted again! He does communicate well and makes sure that customer is informed of the costs at all times.

    Answer from tradesperson:

I was employed to make good a ceiling in the bathroom only. Then second instruction to survey a folded aluminium roof. The customer was informed and advised of what the original cause MAY be. The customer was later advised that a specialist aluminium roof contractor would be required and that all costs incurred to date would be recoverable from their insurance company on the submission of a claim. I offered my assistance in this process. To date I have not been contacted by the customer. I cannot take responsibility for major building defects which the extent had been previously ignored. The problems were documented and pictures supplied to the customer throughout.

    Kitchen Sink & Boiler Pressure

Anthony was very quick in responding and visiting our house to fix the problem. He did work very hard to try and find out what the problem was and what we thought was an air block. He worked from 1.30 till 9pm at night. Eventhough he couldn't fix the problem as it was a complicated block, he worked extremely hard to fix it. As he could not fix the problem, he did not charge us anything. As a gesture of goodwill, we paid him an hour's pay. Overall, I would highly recommend Anthony as I believe he is highly committed and would go to any extent to fix the problem.

    Replace roofing felt on shed

It was a pleasure to have Anthony solve our shed roof problem and also fix a problem with our kitchen tap. He listened really well and took time to understand what needed to be done. We would absolutely hire him again.

Supply and fit an external door
First impressions count! Out of the three people I contacted, Anthony was the quickest in replying and visiting my home to give a quote with as little hassle as possible. The work was to fit a new door and it was done as I wanted and he was very helpful in keeping the costs down. I am already listing my next jobs for him. Highly recommend!

Painting stairwell & various other things

Anthony was extremely professional and a conscientious worker. We are really happy with the results and everything was properly quoted - actually work came in under his original estimate. He worked hard all day and was entirely trustworthy and multi-tasking. I am surprised if Anthony gets any negative feedback - I could only imagine he was dealing with difficult people. I would highly recommend Anthony, and we intend to use him in the future. 5* service.

checking toilet cistern, re-boxing in and tiling
I am now in dispute with this builder

    Answer from tradesperson:

(Boxing in works and fixing toilet pan to the floor) The customer repaired the cistern herself prior to me arriving at the property. The boxing in job was completed to the customers praise and satisfaction, she was to pay on invoice a day later. The customer later had an admitted seperate fault develop on her cistern, this was after the boxing in works, I offerd to return and take a look at the problem, these works were considered as extra. The customer unreasonbly held me responsible for the further fault which was outside of my remit. The customer was very rude and aggressive. In summury, 'A very unreasonble customer which is to be served with a summons for non payment very soon.'

    fit dishwasher and re-organise pipes

Anthony was very conscientious and always show up on time, which was greatly appreciated. The dishwasher was fitted nicely and worked very well. so job well done! However I have the feeling that he does not pay enough attention to the basics. I had a leak of my bachroom tub. he came over and claimed to have fixed it without noticing the overflow pipe was still disconnected and dangling down there. So I had another flooding the next day (while having paid the unsatisfied service). Also once the overflow pipe has been connected, there was a blockage in my bathtub. Anthony came by suggesting it was the drainage pipe set-up issue of the bathtub and indicated it was a complicated problem... I paid him again without having the problem fixed. Last night I had another plumber over, within 10 mins, he asked to look at the drainage outside. It turned out to be the tree leaves blocking the main drain outside, problem solved. Looking back I would say, fitting the dishwasher was a positive experience but (not)fixing the bathtub slow drain was a very negative experience as Anthony just went straight to the more complicated scenario instead of checking all the basics. That's why I am leaving a neutral feedback.

    Answer from tradesperson:

The customer removed the bath drain screw thinking she was cleaning the trap, this released the botton waste trap under the bath breaking the seal allowing water to escape under the bath I again went to the customers property and found that a side entry overflow pipe had popped off the trap under the bath allowing water to escape. I replaced the pipe. I know it was fitted after the first visit and came to the conclusion that the customer may have been involved in the matter in some way as she was with the drain screw. The cost of the work was always an issue with the customer, driving down the quote or adding new work such as re-fitting curtain rails stating that the work was included in my estimate. All in all a very difficult customer.
