Maurice was brilliant, really friendly, polite and professional. He turned up when he said he would and returned to do the extra work needed on my extractor fan within two days. He came up with an ideal solution to rewiring the fan when I realised the ceiling could not be punctured due to heating panels. The work was really neat and tidy and Maurice left the area very clean. We were communicating and agreed with the quote for a job to be started. About 3 weeks before the job to start, lost any communication with him. I have sent him many messages trying to confirm the time to start the job but with no reply at all. If for any circumstances he could not take up the job, at least he should have the courtesy to let me knowAnswer from tradesperson:
This customer took 2 months to respond to my first message.This made me a bit weary about taking on his job.After giving him a quotation with a proposed date he took a week to confirm he was happy to go ahead a day before the proposed date.I do offer customers some flexibility with appointments but at the same time a response in good time is essential to secure and appointment.But in this instance I don’t believe this customer was keen to maintain a clear line of communication.With all due respect to this customer I can only hold an appointment for a couple of days at the most.And I have to book in customers who are clear about what they require and when the job needs to be done.
