I hired M M plumbing and heating engineer to fit a shower screen to my bath. To begin with he was very helpful by telling me the one I originally bought was unsuitable, offering to get me one that would be and helping me put the old one back in the box. Unfortunately when he came back the following Monday with the new shower screen, he did not fit it properly. I called him immediately after when I noticed that the screen was upside down and lacking adequate silicone, he came back right away and corrected this, however spoke to me terribly, tutting and sighing, and when I mentioned that the wall fixture was bent and the screen hinge completely out of line, causing extreme leakage, he lied to me by saying that this was a “safety feature”. After he left I called my dad who is a bathroom fitter himself, and he confirmed that the screen had been fitted incorrectly and that the wall fixture is bent. Since testing it out it is leaking from the hinge. I contacted the engineer again to report this and request he came back to correct, but he avoided my questions, giving short, rude answers, and eventually stopped responding to my calls and texts. This man charged me £95 for 1.5 hours labour and £75 for a basic shower screen, and I cannot use it. I am extremely upset that he not only made me feel so uncomfortable in my own home, but he also has left me with a shower that I can no longer use, and £170 worse off. I do not recommended this engineer in the slightest, please avoid.
