    Re-tiling exterior staircase in Whitby
    The job turned out to be more complicated than originally expected as the cement and old tiles under the existing tiles were in very poor condition. These all had to be removed and new levelling compound applied before the new tiles could be laid. Mike and his team stuck with the job, working hard and long hours to see the job through. We are very happy with the end result. It was apparent that previous tiling jobs had been rather bodged and it was great that Mike was committed to doing a "proper job" by going back to a sound surface.

    Floor tiles - hallway
    Very happy with the work Mike and Garry completed today levelling my hallway. Job turned out to be a lot harder then originally asked as there was issues underneath. They completed the job within a few hours with no complaints. The work they carried out was an amazing standard. Mike was really helpful throughout the whole process. Very professional and lovely lads. will definitely be using there services again.

    First time tiling of new porch/toilet.
    WARNING! SCAMMER, others must be family. What he couldn't tile he filled with grout. Quote jumped from £360 to £700 CASH and NO receipt given, suspect tax fraud. Avoided contact. After work completed floor was 12mm higher than the kitchen floor as he had not removed the ply board covering the floor boards. He removed newly installed toilet and left it in my garden. My toilet door has been left in my sitting room and hall cupboard door in my kitchen. He left grout on my new driveway, 2 bags of rubbish and plasterboard pieces in garden. Didn't even sweep up, charged for 2 full days work and left at beginning of second day as soon as wife paid him, while I slept off nightshift. Avoided contact, I doubt he is even qualified. Great conman. Also see other previous negative feedback.

    Answer from tradesperson:

    Original job was to tile the porch, then they wanted the hallway to follow through which was floorboards so needed more materials and labour so the price had to go up. Toilet couldn’t be installed because the tiles were laid the same day and he was aware the doors needed trimming from quote. Everywhere was swept up and tidied and woman was happy with finishing product on the day. This is all because I didn’t get round to sending the invoice over after 2 working days. Very angry abusibe man threatened to come to my house and smash my wife up. Promised to remove this after reviving invoice and I’ve tried to rectify things with him but getting no answer. Feel so sorry for his lovely little wife, if you ever need help it is out there for abused victims. I’m a qualified, registered tiler and if i can help this man i would but you just can’t help some people. Thanks very much for your time and custom. Mike

    Kitchen
    Mike and he's lads surpassed all expectations with the new floor and tiling for our new kitchen. No cutting corners, attention to detail was spot on. Friendly while very professional. Very honest and trustworthy, and kept us informed of everything that was going on. More importantly Mike always contacted us when he said he would. We would fully recommend MJK Tiling to anyone wanting a professional job done. Thanks again Mike, Gary and Jake 👍

    Floor tiles in the entrance hall
    Extremely pleased with the work carried out, which was to the highest of standards. Very reliable and trustworthy. Would highly recommend. Mrs S. Wilkinson

    Floor tile a new build in Easingwold.
    I would advise any prospective customer to get a written itemised quote before agreeing a price including whether he will seek to charge extra if he underestimates how long the job will take. I would not use him again.

    The job wasn’t underestimated, you asked for durable matting to be used after agreeing to the price that was sent by txt message for record. Extra work = extra charges.

    Kitchen walls below cooker hood and cupboards
    Michael was a reassuring tiler, created an easy atmosphere, no question was too much trouble, we gave Michael, the basic premise of what we would like, he then proceeded to amaze us with the choice of tiles, which was amazing. The final job apart from 1 minor irritation over screws for sockets, which has caused me some angst, not Michael's doing. They worked well in a team, cleaned up as they went, leaving everything clean and tidy. The finished article is perfect, better than we originally envisaged, the choice of tiles was perfect and will complement when the kitchen is finished. We will use Michael and his team again on our next project. Thanks for a job well done!
