Did a brilliant job and came even though it had snowed.

Too expensive! Wants deposits before starting a job, how many tradesmen do that?

Jamie turned up on time - gave me a quote which was acceptable - did the job immediately - cleaned up afterwards - good nature - deffinately would use his services again

I was delighted with Jamie Gaskin’s work on my roof, which involved several areas of repair, following leaks of rainwater. He was prompt, efficient, courteous and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

I contacted Jamie to look at a couple of small leaks in a Cotswold stone roof. He came promptly and assessed the roofing job from the ground. After I accepted his quote, he returned next day and set up ladders to get access to the roof and chimney. Having examined the roof he reported that the original tiling was substandard and, in his opinion, should be completely redone (at considerable cost). He said he could try to fix the leaks but couldn't 100% guarantee the result. The result is that 2 (out of 3) leaks are fixed and the third one improved (but not eliminated). Jamie came across as knowledgeable and professional but he is quite costly. I am uncertain whether to mark my review Positive or Neutral but have opted for Positive as I believe Jamie did his best under the circumstances. However, I paid a fair amount of money and still have a small leak in my roof.

I would recommend Jamie Gaskin without hesitation for any roofing work. He replaced my cotswold stone roof to the front of my property a few years back (looks excellent and still rock solid) and the slate roof to the rear just this week (Feb 2020). The work is to a very high standard, Jamie is very knowledgeable, friendly and fast working and just gets the jobs done!

Jamie repaired my flat roof and replaced tiles and ridges stones to other parts of the pitched roofs. He blocked off a leaking chimney & repaired a Cotswold Stone gable and porch roof as well as fixing some guttering - all in about 4 days! It was clear Jamie was an experienced and knowledgeable roofer as soon as he came to quote. Throughout the job he proved to be extremely capable and professional keeping me informed about every step of the work. He even replaced a sash window pane free of charge. Jamie and his assistant worked quickly and efficiently and cleared up everything. They were very friendly and polite and although not the cheapest quote I got - I believe his work was thorough and excellent. Jamie immediately spotted problem areas and quoted for them where other builders didn’t. Jamie was reliable, trustworthy, efficient as well as competitively priced and I will definitely use him again. I can highly recommend Jamie & JR Contractors.

Booked this guy after he visited our house and quoted. He understood the urgency of the job and said he would start as soon as the rain storms we were having stopped - however he did not do the job as promised. He then told us that he couldn't do it as quickly as promised as he was going on holiday! We then went on holiday, having sent him an message to do it while we were away, on his return, and we would BACS his payment. He never even replied. So now, not only do I need my roof fixing, I also need my living room re-decorating! Very unprofessional.
