Review left on 8 Nov 2019Rating: 1 out of 5Handyman to assist with multiple jobs around homeI gave them a list of jobs to be completed, they provided a price and we agreed the would be done across two days with 90% being done on day one. This wasn’t the case. The handy man was sent to me and only allocated 2 hrs to complete a list of over 8 jobs including grouting 2 bathrooms. I had to phone up and complain after day 1 when only 2 tasks had be completed to ask why more hadn’t been done especially as I had agreed to them working in the day so the work would be done whilst my family were out of the house. The whole process was a shamble. The lady in the office was rude, and reluctant to take full blame for the poor handling of my job as we were now going into day 3 of what should have been a one day job with a few minor bits on the second day. In the end I told them not to come back and cancelled the rest of the job which I am going to give someone else. For this inconvenience and lack of completion of the jobs quoted they offered to take £25 off the invoice. What a joke. Ben the work man is good at what he does but Caroline in the office could do with a lesson on taking accountability and providing good customer service. Even though they failed to do all the jobs in the allocated time, inconvenienced me and my family by having to do some of this in the evening when we were all home and called us last minute to gain earlier access to our home than originally booked, I was accused of being aggressive in calling them out on all of this. Wouldn’t use them again.Answer from tradesperson:
As discussed we are sorry that you have been unhappy with our overall service. We pride ourselves on having a strong reputation of great customer service so take your comments very seriously indeed. We appreciate your valuable feedback, pointing out areas that can be improved such as convenient scheduling of appointments. I do think there was a misunderstanding of our availability at short notice. The 3 hours quoted were to be split as 2 hours on the first day and 1 hour on the next visit. Regrettably in this instance we underestimated the amount of time and needed a couple more hours. This we took full responsibility for with no financial penalty to you. If any of our timings were not suitable, we would have offered you an alternative. Our revisit on the first day was mainly due to your own materials not being available for use. We made provision to return out of hours as we always try to be responsive to our client’s needs. Although you agreed to this visit, you now mention you found it inconvenient which we are sorry to hear. We did hope that as you were happy with the actual work that you would allow us back to complete the curtain pole and finish off a tiny bit of grouting for you, an hours work. All of which I was happy to book in for you. However, as you decided not to accept our appointment to complete, we offered a £25 reduction of your original quotation being 20% off £125 charged. We had hoped that you considered this to be fair.

Everyone has been very pleasant to deal with, and Ben (who carried out the work) just came and got on with it without any fuss.
