Chris completed my drive with block paving. The work was of a very high quality and at a reasonable price. I have arranged for him to do the front garden aswell after seeing his workmanship. Can definitely recommend him and as per above will be using him again.Review from jeremy50823, Leeds jeremy50823, Leeds

Big mistake hiring HL! First day, never knocked on the door to say they were here & starting just started ripping hedges out without even giving me time to move my car from the drive! Originally said the job would take 2 wks, turned into them being there for approx 3 mths as everything they did needed redoing, sometimes on more than 1 occasion. Wall columns that gates were to be attached to were built up wonky & twisted & had to be knocked down twice before they were anywhere near right. We have a long drive, rather than start laying it from the top against the straight edge of the house, they laid it from the roadside so again, it was wonky once they’d got up to the top (which took 3 days as they were having to cut every edge piece because it wasn’t straight), we knew it wasn’t going to be square, mentioned it daily as they were doing it but Chris’s reply was “trust me”, of course they had to relay it from the house down but wanted to charge us extra for the privilege of having a straight drive! Most of the other errors came to light after they left the job (promising to come back & fix any problems once the weather was better (this has never happened despite endless attempts from us to get them here). A stone circle supposed to be for parking has no foundations so would crack, patio has collapsed, pointing was only around 5mm deep so is crumbling, grass laid on cement They offer a 5 year guarantee, it’s worth nothing. Wish I could add photos.Answer from tradesperson:
First of all the lady’s husband did know we were coming and he didn’t tell bext door , then the drive they mention was laid from the road which they later decided to ask me to cut into the highways pavement to gain a square drive then I had to relay the drive . Also the patio and stone circle have come loose because there relation kept walking on the paving to do the wiring I re layer the patio 4 times then when the job was finished they had £3500 pounds worth of extras which they refused to pay for . To add to all this a relative threatened my work force . I still haven’t been paid the full amount so that is why we haven’t been back . Also because we don’t want intimidating while we work .

Very pleased with our patio, done for a reasonable price. Took all rubbish away and left the place tidy. Got it all done in timescale expected. Also sorted a problem manhole cover as an added extra.Review from darren_906, Castleford darren_906, Castleford

Hired Chris as he gave a very good account of himself and the company. Said he would be there by 8 but turned up at noon virtually everyday and was finished by 3 at the latest. He managed to cause nearly £500 worth of damage to my brand new one week old car (still owes me the excess of £100) and job was NOT completed. Paving edging was not concreted in so all loose now. Not answering txts, calls or emails. Will be seeking advice from a solicitor soon. Also, before he was finished I hired him to do some work in my back garden which consisted of extending patio slabs for a shed base, fixing a couple of fence posts which had become loose after a storm and laying some artificial grass. Fence and shed base were completed but shed base had to be changed as he completely ignored what I asked for. Grass is not complete as not pinned down or pathway reinstalled. We had agreed that path should remain. He took it upon himself to remove. Am sick that I paid before the work was finished, I am owed £100 for the car and £100 for the path. And on a final note, I did not receive a written confirmation of exactly what the job entailed nor a final invoice/receipt. Only received a couple of txts. Copies of emails/ Txts available.Answer from tradesperson:
In reply to this feedback I never say I will turn up at 8 as I start at nine also I started his job in the afternoon as I finished another . In regards to damage on his car we did not do the damage it took him 2 days to find the damage but out of kindness I told my insurance it was us and who leaves a new car next to where work is going to be done the shed base is exactly how he wanted it and we had to change it twice also the snagging was not done because when we finished he was happy with the work and said he would transfer money to my bank but did not didn't answer messages or phone then turned his phone of and it took a while for payment which as not been made in full my usual customers are happy but you can not win them all .

Chris made a good job of blending the new paved area with the existing drive. Despite the recent heavy rainfall, the paths and drive drain well and there are no puddles. All materials were brought with them on the same day as they were used, so there were no piles of sand, cement etc. There was no skip as each day any waste was taken away. Chris works with two other members of his family and they are friendly and helpful.
