We couldn’t be happier with the work carried out on our home. Focus Builders completed a two-storey wraparound extension including two new bathrooms and a large open-plan kitchen, and the entire experience was excellent. From the outset, they reviewed our plans, discussed our vision, and offered valuable advice, which built trust immediately. Communication was clear, honest, and consistent throughout. Any questions or changes were handled professionally and with ease, giving us confidence at every stage. The quality of workmanship is exceptional. The extension blends seamlessly with the existing property, and the attention to detail, particularly in the bathrooms and kitchen, is outstanding. We couldn’t recommend Sean and his team more highly. From the start, Sean was approachable, friendly, and incredibly patient. We first booked him during a drawn-out probate process, and he remained understanding and flexible throughout, rearranging his schedule so the work could begin as soon as we moved in. Sean explained everything clearly and was never intimidating—we always felt comfortable asking questions. He showed us examples of past work, gave helpful advice, and offered clear options when decisions were needed. Tim and Carlo, the main guys on site, were brilliant—skilled, respectful, and friendly. With a baby in the house, we’d dreaded weeks of disruption, but the team kept things as clean and calm as possible. Sean’s team did everything from building work to chimney removal, plumbing, plastering, and a full rewire. Every contractor was excellent and we always felt in safe hands. They were reliable, communicative, and genuinely cared. We highly recommend Sean.

I cannot speak highly enough of Sean. He came to see us yesterday and was a model of kindness and professionalism. He very patiently explained all our options to us and used his expertise to go through any difficulties that the work would throw up and to suggest solutions. We particularly appreciated his honesty when it came to pricing up the job. Sean is probably unusual among builders in that he insists on giving you a fixed and final figure for the job, ie. a fixed price that covers everything from the initial groundwork to a completely finished new kitchen. Once this price is agreed, any unforeseen costs will be borne by Sean himself. Unfortunately, although Sean gave us a very fair price, we have decided to go for a more modest kitchen refurb that does not involve building an extension. Nonetheless, it was Sean's expertise and his willingness to patiently explain things to us that enabled us to make this decision.

Sean really is one of the good guys! We were looking to build a rear single story extension to create a large kitchen/dining/living space and we couldn’t be happier with the result Sean initially helped us arrange to get the structural drawings/building regs done straight away, and then after receiving a few quotes for the building work we were most impressed with Sean and were confident his team would do the best job and they did not disappoint. The flat rate quote was a big selling point as no other builders would offer this and it really gave us peace of mind during the build. He set out a detailed time schedule for the work at the start and everything ran on time through out. Tim, Carlo and the rest of the team were ready to start at 7:30 every morning come rain or shine (mostly rain). All the team were incredibly friendly and professional and always left the site tidy at the end of the day. Seans communication during the whole project was exemplary, he would always call to run things by us first and kept us updated on the build with pictures via WhatsApp. Sean offered us his advice and expertise throughout which helped us co-ordinate the build around other work that was being done to the house at the same time. We used our own plasterers and electronics and Seans team worked seamlessly with them as the project went on. We couldn’t be happier with the end result and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sean and his team to everyone we know

Sean's team has done a great job. Tim and Carlos are very professional and the quality of work is of high standard. The team is very flexible and provided a number of suggestion for the improvement of our house with reasonable price. If you are new to the UK, I would recommend you can have a word with Sean for his advice for builder's work.

We contacted Sean through this site. Initially we spoke to him via telephone and arranged an appointment for him to come and discuss work we wanted carrying out. He came as arranged, was professional, knowledgeable and was genuine. Using his knowledge, we discussed in detail the different options we had. After this initial meeting he went away to work out a fixed quotation for the job. After a second meeting, Sean gave us a full breakdown of the cost of works; a schedule of work to be carried out and the security of a fixed quotation. After careful consideration we decided to use Sean and his team. We liked the fact that we had the security of a fixed quotation. The deposit and payment plan to follow reassured us as we were not handing over a large amount of money upfront. Also the fact that his team would do the entire build, rather than waiting on other tradespeople was great. He arranged when everyone should be here (taking the pressure away from us) He was very easy to contact throughout the build. At the beginning he set up a WhatsApp group, where we could communicate about the work. He would keep us updated on the work with pictures, messages and phone calls. He was available to discuss any thoughts we had throughout the day. His team arrived early each day and just got on with the job in hand (fitting a key box for us helped with this). The team left the area clean each day. Although the build did run slightly over. We are happy with the final outcome.

We can’t recommend Sean and Focus Builders enough; Sean and his team are outstanding. Sean sat down with us and really invested his time in talking us through the options and best approach. Sean works to a fixed price model and provides a really detailed breakdown of what’s in and out of scope. Sean helped with everything. Detailed architectural drawings, building regs, structural diagrams, the building inspector, every single tradesperson required, plus the new kitchen, all appliances, and LVT flooring; all through Sean as a single point of contact. We can’t speak more highly of each tradesperson involved in the build. Each person was a complete professional, polite and friendly. The quality of their work is exemplary. When something went wrong Sean and Project Manager Tim were on it straight away and resolved without any faff. Throughout the project the communication flowed and we were kept informed of what was happening, when it would happen, and who would be involved. The guys worked tirelessly and when there was a slight delay, it was due to hiccups in the supply of a materials or something out of their control. We didn’t need to move out of the house, just make some changes to cope without having a kitchen for a few weeks. The house was secured through every phase of the project. We’re over the moon with our new extension and kitchen. What could have been a really stressful few months passed really quickly thanks to Sean and his team.

Sean is an extremely personable and knowledgable guy. He has gone above and beyond in terms of fantastic communications from initial discussions in terms of our plans over the phone, then in person at our property. Extensive explanation was provided in terms of all of the work he and his team would do if we were to go ahead. The realistic costings with a payment plan breakdown, what would be included etc, so we'd know all upfront costs from the get-go. We could not have asked for more really. Unfortunately we have decided against having the work done. The only reason being that the work required is beyond our budget expectations at this moment in time. If we do change our minds in the future we will be contacting Sean again without hesitation.
