What I thought would be a pretty straight forward job, was actually more complicated than I had expected. We had a lot of really uneven boards, a couple of which needed replacing. I am so happy with the results and relieved that I hired Adam instead of attempting the work myself. I discovered he had a vast knowledge and experience in several areas of the building trade.
He went out of his way to help in any way he could, even with jobs he wasn't actually hired for! I had also booked someone to touch up the pointing on the back of the building, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the bricklayer was unable to drive and get his supplies. I asked Adam if he would be able to pick up some supplies when he was out buying his supplies, only for him to return half an hour later with everything the bricklayer needed. Adam had gone out especially to get the cement and sand, just so that the brickwork could be finished. I have an original Victorian fireplace which had some of the original tiles buried under cement on the floor. Adam broke through the cement, without damaging the tiles so that I could get someone in to lay the additional tiles I had.
Adam worked so hard and was so patient and helpful when it came to advising on stains and lacquers. A true perfectionist. His work is impeccable. But not only that, he was an amazing person to have around.
