Plastering in bedroom (currently 3m artex )
Good things, the finish on the wall Ellis did was lovely. He came to fix a mistake (although it didn't quite solve it), he gave me numbers for other tradesman who did other jobs for us which was helpful, he was professional in that he communicated well and asked if we wanted him to take his shoes off as we had new carpets, things like this.
Bad things, on the day we were covering every last bit of the new carpet which is dark blue and Ellis said don't worry about it, as there wouldn't be much mess. In the end all the bits left uncovered have huge lumps of plaster that we can't get out. I wished he had just let us get on with it as now the carpet is ruined, brown on blue is very visible, there was time to let do it properly.
Mid way through the job another guy showed up from nowhere, didn't introduce himself and wandered around with his shoes on. He did 1 wall pretty badly with wobbly edges sometimes an inch or more from the skirting boards. Ellis later tried to fix with caulk but its absorbed in where the plaster is missing so the finish is a really obvious wavy line.
I discussed this later with Ellis over text. He said he did a better job than the last people so he thought we would be happy. Our new house in a state as the last people did bodge jobs everywhere. I feel he judged the house as a reflection of our standards, i.e pretty low, so didn't ensure he did completed the job himself. Disappointed, after the quote thought he was the guy to help us get the best finish.
