    French door install

Got him to install a set of 2nd hand french doors but not happy with the finished result. He had to partly brick up a window to do this and the brickwork was very badly done. He didnt tie it into the existing bricks which I wasn't aware he wouldn't, the rows of bricks aren't in line with the existing bricks, there are gaps and bits of silicone left. When you look at the actual doors they have been installed wonky, the bottom right corner sits further into the room than any other point of the frame. I also informed him that the door catches sometimes when trying to close. . Additional, the quote he gave me said specifically it included removal of bricks, we agreed he would leave the old window/door but nothing else. On site he then said he wouldnt be taking any of the rubble/bricks with him. I informed him of all this and he agreed to come back and fix. After several weeks of hearing nothing he then turned round and said he wouldn't come back to fix this anymore unless I paid. Avoid!

    Answer from tradesperson:

Unfortunately you can't please everyone, especially when they want something for nothing. We followed the job description word for word, and done exactly what was requested. We charged an extremely low price of £695 to do the job £795 of we where to remove the waste. We did not realise that the second hand French door had literally been cut out then given away. It was coroded, rusty and had been sitting in the garden uncovered for months. In hindsight we should of refused the job. This is the original job advertisement. Hi, i want to take out an existing window and door in my kitchen and put in a pair of French doors i already have (see pics). The sink, dishwasher and plumbing will all be moved beforehand so there will just be a cupbaord in the alcove. Part of the window will need bricking up and the rest of the wall underneath the window needs knocking out (see drawing). Ideal start date is 20th July. Thanks.

    Complete yard refurbishment

Phil and his team did a fantastic job. Our back wall had some major subsidence, needed rebuilding and the floor levelling and flags laying. We also had some aluminum french doors installed and rendering to the walls. Phil was very professional, friendly and kept us informed throughout the whole job. The team were tidy, neat and always on time. If there were ever any issues, Phil let us know straight away, and he always consulted us on materials choices. I would 100% recommend Eccleson construction for anyone looking for a good job, we are absolutely delighted with how ours has turned out 😊

    Groundwork job (domestic)

Phill replied to a job post I did on behalf of my sister & her husband who needed some foundations digging in their garden then Ecobase and aggregate laying in preparation for an oversized shed to be constructed. My brother in law was diagnosed with two brain tumours last year that were removed but he suffered a stroke whilst having the surgery, which has resulted in poor mobility problems. They had to downsize their house so needed the shed to give them the extra storage space that a garage would. Phill was quick to reply & visited my sister's a couple of days later to give her a quote. He arrived on time, discussed the job & came back with 3 different options & price bands to help her budget. Phill did the job & we couldn't fault him and the team from start to finish. Communication was very good, the workmanship is of a very high quality & nothing was too much trouble. They also built the shed at an additional cost. I would highly recommend them!

    Wall removal

Job has been completed as requested. Unfortunately i had to reconsider my review after finding out that , the materials been used wasn’t the one our structural engineer requested and building control expected to see as well . I have asked for the proof of the materials used and no response has been received with this and a solution to sort this matter. A bit more attention to detail would be required (floor boards been lifted with not much attention and been snapped ) Let’s be more responsible Proof of our building control added for understanding the situation Thank you

    Answer from tradesperson:

The concrete block we used where above 7.3 newton's, which is the requirement for your rsj steels. It seems to me that you plasterboarded over the pillars before building regs could view, and that has created an issue. We also did not receive any communication regarding this issue On the point regarding the floorboards, we only lifted 1.5 floorboards upstairs so we could brick up above the steels. We put both of them back with no breaks/snaps in them. What was already upstairs was around 6 floorboards lifted, not refit and they were snapped. So to give us a slightly lower review considering the work we carried out and the very very reasonable price we charged. I feel is very harsh, thank you
