Originally Steve came to quote for leading work, including quite a complex boxing in of waste pipes and venting. However he quickly spotted significant problems with the way the extension roof had been layed (by a non-specialist builder). He stripped and re-layed the roof, replacing battens (which were already damp). He completed the work within time and for the price quoted. He also did all the work himself, with another worker, which is rare for a builder these days. I have no hesitation in highly recommending Steve Dudley for roofing; moreover, given the professional way he went about the work, I'd be prepared to make a general recommendation too.

I called 3 roofers (all from Mybuilder.com) to assess works to my roof. I am in the process of having my bedrooms decorated and once the decorator began works, he noticed water damage to the chimney breasts and alcoves, indicating a problem with the roof. Steve spent a good 20 minutes assessing the roof, took pictures to provide evidence of works that needed to be done, which included new lead flashing, replacement of cracked chimney pots, pointing to chimney stacks, removal of years of moss that had accummulated all over the tiles/ spraying of anti moss, and making good bay window roof. The other 2 roofers only picked up the lead flashing replacement with no mention of the other works that needed doing. I gave Steve the job as he was extremely thorough in his assessment, ensuring that I knew exactly what needed doing with no add on extras when works commenced. Steve and his team completed the job in 2 days (originally told 3 days), left the area in a clean and tidy state during and after works. So far so good and the newly decorated bedrooms have shown no evidence of leaking. Steve is a true professional who takes pride in his work and strives to ensure that works are completed to a high standard. I will be calling Steve back in the Spring of 2012 to re-lay my garage roof.

Steve repaired a recurring roof leak by rebuilding a parapet wall and a chimney stack, lead flashing etc. The job was done thoroughly, neatly, on time, to budget, and with good communication – including showing us pictures of the work before, during and on completion. Steve has a very nice manner and we'd ask him again to do any further work we needed.
