David seems a friendly enough guy, but the request was for David to come provide a fee quote to change the shower trap to remove the bad smell coming from the shower. Without first telling me about any possible charge, he looked at the pipes, giving his opinion that no actual work needed to be carried out, but then proceeded to charge me his 'call-out rate' for looking. Whilst I appreciate that traders have to be paid, it would have been more honest if he had told me that he would charge for simply looking before he actually did it. After all, he was here to provide a fee quote!
Even more annoyingly, David's opinion was that nothing can be done about the bad smell coming from my shower, and advised against changing the shower trap. The next tradesman who came actually did the work and the shower doesn't smell anymore.
Not sure I'd recommend.
