Darren Mason did the electrical work in a two bedroom house I was renovating. He quickly provided a reasonable quote, which he was happy to amend when we cut down the amount of work (e.g. less new sockets) to save money. He replaced an old consumer unit, put a new ring main in the kitchen, replaced all the socket and light switches, added two new sockets, wired in a new electric shower, extended the cooker circuit and put in new earthing wires. He carried out the work in a sequence that fitted in with the rest of the work that we were doing, e.g. he ran all the new cables in the kitchen first so we could plaster and fit the new kitchen units. He then came back to fit the new kitchen sockets after we had tiled the kitchen. He charged the amount as per the revised quote. He also put up the kitchen lights and the lounge light although these were not in the quote. He provided his certificate a few days after finishing and the Part P certificate arrived a few days later. The quality of his work seemed good and his wiring seemed to be neat and there are no new wires showing on the surface. He labelled each circuit on the new consumer unit, which in my experience most electricians don't do.
