Chris investigated my leaking roof, took and emailed some photos to me showing what was wrong - slipped slates, cowboy flashband repairs and missing slates. He quoted a reasonable £200 & I asked if he would paint the guttering as well. He advised that it was not properly connected & was rusty, & said it would also be better replaced than spending money painting it. He quoted £120 to replace it with new aluminium guttering which I booked. When he got the guttering he wasn't happy that the shape fitted flush with the existing gutters on either side & took it back to change instead of making do like many other tradesmen would. When he got on the roof he reported that the roof had not been replaced for many years & was suffering from nail fatigue, & that there were likely to be many more slates coming loose in the future. I thought, here we go, now he's up there he wants to do the whole thing! Not so, Chris said realised I wanted to get it fixed quickly & cheaply ready to rent out & said it was something I should consider in the future with a tenant in. He told me that, having examined the flashbanding in greater detail, for a temporary repair they had done a reasonable job, & that rather than rip it up as it is watertight (apart from the loose slates) I would be better saving a bit of money now to reroof later. He reduced his price from £320 to £200 including the guttering - I couldn't say fairer than that. I would definitely recommend him & hope he will quote my next job.

We recently hired Chris to fix a leak in the roof at the back of the house. He provided a reasonable quote and gave clear descriptions as well as photos to show us what was causing the problem. He was honest and told us a realistic date when the work could be started. In between the quote and the work starting, we developed another leak at the front of the house and Chris came back within 24 hours to take a look. He found the problem and gave us a heavily discounted quote to do both jobs as he could see we had a low budget but water was pouring in. Chris kept me up to date with regular phone calls to let me know when work would begin and then when it started, he gave me regular updates and photos of the progress. He tidied up afterwards and we're delighted to have a dry home again! I would definitely recommend him and have already asked him for a quote for more work that we will save up for later in the year. I asked him to put together a report detailing the work that was carried out and he did this within a couple of days. Overall we are very pleased.

Chris made a good job of repointing the chimney and also did a few extra jobs needed on the roof. He wouldn't take full payment until we were sure that the problem had been solved. One of the best trademen I have dealt with in terms of communication, turning up when he said he would etc! Much appreciated.

Good and detailed job done for a good price

Very impressed with Hynburn Roofing and Buliding. Spoke to him on the phone and came round and did the job the same day. Very pleased with the work and Chris was able to identify problem straight away (not roof tiles as i had initially thought). Had no problems with the roof since and we have had plenty of rain since the job was done. Would highly recommend and have told my friends about him, also very reasonably priced job.
