Barney put on a whole new roof for me. He was personable, courteous, helpful and very precise. He was highly professional. He also managed his team exceptionally well, and in turn, you could tell that his team held him in very high regard. I was very impressed. He turned up on-time, finished when he said he would - everything was timely. His work was of a very high quality and he was meticulous - all mess and debris was cleared-up immaculately at the end of each day. He also provided a full explanation of what he was doing at each stage, in terms I could understand. The job was completed to my total satisfaction, for a really good price, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone. I was quite apprehensive about the whole thing beforehand, having had experience of other tradesmen over the years, but Barney really did surpass my expectations in terms of how he conducted himself and how the job was carried out. He’s a thoroughly nice man and was very easy to have around, as were his team. He’s well-mannered and kindly, but professional at the same time. I was happy to pay every penny for the job, and I would wholeheartedly recommend him.

I manage lettings for Wrights estate agents in Welwyn Garden City, Herts. For the past five years Barney has been roofing for us - from small repairs right through to laying full roofs. He currently works for three of our branches as the sole roofer - Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield and Stevenage. He’s a fabulous tradesman, carrying out all types of roofing, as well as guttering and mending leaks. On many occasions he has gone above-and-beyond, like, for instance, when he has mended a leaking roof and there has been water-staining on the ceiling in the room below, he has painted the ceiling or done some emergency plastering. He will usually offer to do this sort of thing free-of-charge, however, we always try to include these extras in our payment to him. He’s our designated roofer, covering all work that comes up on any of our 650 letted properties. A job with Barney on it is stress-free; we know it’s in safe hands. He’s always busy and we’ve never had a complaint or any issues. In fact, in the five years he’s been working for us he’s never had a callback on one of our properties, although if he did, his work is guaranteed for ten years. He’s on call for us 24 hours day, and will always come out and work on one of our roofs, whatever the weather.
