Repair guttering to rear of terraced house
The company are very efficient and communication was excellent. The job was done to a satisfactory standard, but we were disappointed that the workman used lots of black (rather than transparent) sealant, clumsily applied, which made the completed work look ugly.
Answer from tradesperson:
It's a shame that this was not mentioned at the time as the job was completed and paid for without comment. The black silicone used is actually silicone used to point lead into brickwork. We use this as we find it to be more reliable than ordinary silicone. Also, the reason black was used is that we used black replacement pipe. We do not use clear silicone as this picks up dirt and becomes a wishy washy grey colour, which would have looked worse and matched nothing.
