When Ben came to quote for the job he was friendly & informative giving suggestions on how to better improve the layout of the bathroom. He went through all of the items that I had purchased from Victoria Plumb and advised that he may need to purchase replacement parts due to the poor quality of the fittings from Victoria Plumb.The quoted price was reasonable and he could undertake the job within the time that suited. There was a couple of questions and concerns we had prior to the work being undertaken and Ben was responsive and informative in answering these prior to starting the job. Ben and Aaron arrived by 9am on the first day of the agreed date, sadly due to a variety of reasons the job took slightly longer than expected. it took 2.5 weeks ( with a total of 10 working days) to complete the fitting. There were some issues along the way which incurred additional costs - however Ben kept us informed at every point along the way of issues, concerns and additional costs that were agreed in advance of purchasing items. We had some instances of tiles falling of an integrated cupboard - which ben fixed the following day, there was a small leak (not due to Bens work) that we noticed one evening - which Ben fixed the following day. Overall the finished job looks good and we are happy with the result - however it was a very messy process and with only having 1 bathroom in the house, this being out of action for 3 weeks was quite a challenge.

Ben was not reliable; his tile work was good on one wall only. The bath he installed was broken on the corner and he tried to hide it will tile work. The tiling overall was poor, the tiles not lined up and a few have fallen off since. Not to mention he did not finish the job. His reason being we were being too picky, and he was trying to give us something we could not afford. He demanded payment for the work he had done at the point our relationship was breaking down. The relationship was breaking down because I asked him to, fix the tiles, remove a pen mark on a new toilet he installed and to put ply under the floor which was in the original agreement. Ben never came back citing name calling and no pleasing the client via WhatsApp. Ben claimed he left the bathroom 90% done, yet we had no radiator, no shower, unfinished tiles, no silicon, no grout, unevenly laid vinyl, a door that no longer shuts, no connected extractor fan, holes in the roof too big for the lights which were left dangling and an unfinished storage cupboard. Yet he was paid ~75%. I would not have paid if he had not said he would finish the job. Also threatened that if it went to court, that he would win as he has been to court before, knows how it works and basically said that he has covered his basis. I have had to pay someone to redo some portion of this tile work and of course for them to finish the job which Ben assured he could do on our budget, which clearly, he could not. Extremely disappointed.

The only positive is the tiling carried out by Ben is very good and the sink is installed well. The shower waste wasn’t sealed properly resulting in a large volume of water finding its way onto the lounge ceiling The radiator was installed & two valves were left isolated in a void which was tiled over leaving us with no heating in the master bedroom The Shower Tower was left hanging on one bracket after a vain attempt to use adhesive held in place with masking tape until it set. The pipework was installed in the wrong position meaning the second bracket couldn’t be fitted The door part of the custom glass screen was hung too low not leaving enough gap for the bottom door seal to be fitted The shower tray was installed considerably lower than the one it replaced & despite my concerns I was assured it was fine, it wasn’t & within 3-minutes the shower tray is almost overflowing! Pipework which didn’t bang when the toilet was flushed before work started did so after Ben’s plumbing work I was badgered to pay the final invoice before I properly inspected the installation, unfortunately I settled app.95% of the bill before we realised it was leaking onto the lounge ceiling According to Ben anything that went wrong was either as a result of poor design of fittings or was someone else’s fault. After messaging him about the leaking ceiling rather than getting in the van to sort the issue all I got was WhatsApp message tennis & in my opinion responses from Ben were aggressive

Overall good service. Visited to discuss job and made some helpful alternate suggestions. Agreed price and scheduled work promptly. Completed work to a good standard, keeping me up to date with progress. Overall happy with the outcome of the job.

1. Reasons motivating my decision to leave a negative feedback for this trader: 1.1. Unfair attitude: lack of due care and diligence + disregard of Consumer rights; 1.2. Negligent work undertaken; 1.3. Resulting financial prejudice. 2. Work order: full bathroom revamp. 2. Work considered not fit for purpose due to: 2.1. Installation irregularity which led to a radiator leak a month after completion of works. 2.2. Failure of the bath wooden support a year after work completion and subsequent water escape into the property. 3. Trader acted in bad faith by: 3.1. Not returning to the property to fix the radiator leak as per his written agreement; 3.2. Deciding to stop all forms of communication with the Customer, which prevented a satisfactory outcome of the situation; 3.3. Not fixing properly the damage he caused to the property wall while conducting the works. 3.4. Not finishing the works as agreed and evidenced in the invoice (failure to ensure a full wood work protection causing failure 2.2).

Ben was very professional and did an excellent job converting an old bathroom into a wet room. Found good solutions to the problems faced and offered a fair price. Would recommend.

I have to commend Ben and his team for completing the task of putting a bathroom upstairs. This was a tough job but Ben overcame every challenge presented and there were quite a few Challenges. I would strongly recommend Ben and would certainly use him again for my future plans for the rest of the house. He kept me fully updated throughout the building work and I love my new bathroom.

Ben and his mate were very professional while fitting a kitchen and bathroom, excellent job very nice fitter kitchen clean and tidy discussed any issues or problems always on time, excellent quality of work and would recommend him highly, would have ASC to have more work if need

Ben was very helpful and very friendly. Made it really easy to tell him what I wanted and he was very eager to help me find the best solution. He was very punctual and did a great job. Highly recommended
