This included partial demolition of an old 1980s flat-roof extension, construction of an additional area, and a number of openings being made to remodel our kitchen and dining room. As part of the work we also had underfloor heating installed, flooring, and a kitchen fitted. We were initially impressed with the detail of the quote and the clear breakdown of pricing and payments. This included a Gantt chart to show expected progress. We also liked the fact that there was a relatively small deposit to be paid upfront, which was a contrast to some of the other builders we had contacted. The weekly payment schedule set in the quote seemed fair for both us and Marin, with the cost of the work spread over the expected duration. Every week there was progress, and we therefore felt comfortable paying each installment. The total cost for the work was exactly as quoted. Marin managed the team of builders throughout the project and we have been very pleased with the quality of the work. There were lots of details that I thought would be problems, however, Marin and the team are very experienced and able to problem solve any issues. Marin also managed the building control inspections to ensure that the construction was as per the approved drawings. We are often involved in the design aspect of jobs, through planning and of course execution. The work we do tends to be medium to large contracts and includes restoration, refurbishments and extensions, we specialise in timber framed buildings.
Get in touchJames and his team did a fantastic job of gutting and extending my kitchen which included amongst other things removing numerous internal walls and installing a set of french doors on the back wall. They also converted the under stairs cupboard into a downstairs loo and installed a new floor in the dining room along with a set of French doors in their too. We met on a number of occasions beforehand to discuss my ideas and to get his thoughts too before the work started and he was very patient and helpful throughout. I am so pleased with the finished result and the kitchen fitter we used also noted how good their attention to detail was which subsequently made his job a lot easier. James's prices were very reasonable compared to the other quotes I got and he regularly kept me updated with the progress of the build which went very well and did not hit any serious snags.
