I met Charlie and his team from CM Builders Ltd when they were completing a loft extension and ground floor extension for one of my neighbours. Quotation and budget I was given an estimate subject to drawings as I was on a strict budget that I had to keep to for the build. Charlie was able to help me keep to the budget, both at the final agreed plan and during the build. The project was complex in that whilst it was a loft extension, all of the house was rebuilt. The only thing kept was the external walls and first floor rafters. Whilst the footprint of the first floor was not being changed I wanted to bring it up to current building standards with extra insulation. All of the plumbing and electrics were also replaced including a new boiler. The overall build has come in on budget, save for agreed enhancements that I did not think of at the planning stage and or building regulations such as double ceiling fire plaster boards. There were also items such as the original stairs that I wanted to keep, but Charlie was able to increase the height space in the kitchen making the worktop much more usable for tall people for a larger part of the kitchen. These were suggested to me as potential options as part of the build. Stage payments The stage payments have all been sensible throughout the build and linked to the ongoing work schedule. I have not therefore had any concerns in this regard. Quality of work This was a very complicated build as unlike the ground floor the first and new second floor are “L” shaped. The new 2nd floor included an en-suite and 2 bedrooms. Overall the house has been increased from 2 bedrooms 1 bathroom, to four doubles and 2 bathrooms. The quality of work is excellent and Charlie project manages his team to ensure that they all deliver to a high standard- if it is not done correctlt they do it again, with Charlie spotting any issues. Timeline of build This has generally gone to plan very well. As with any build you have to be realistic as things will happen outside of anyone’s control. When issues have arisen Charlie manages them to a conclusion. Also be realistic if you are having to manage to a tight budget. I had to plan for various stage receipts of cash before I could order the kitchen and bathroom items - make sure you understand how this impacts the build and availability of the work force, recognising that CM Builders have to book kitchen fitters and plumbers. CM Builders are also very helpful in that they have sorted out issues with the brick work of my freestanding garage (nothing to do with the build) and also a neighbour’s wall that could have been dangerous to the public, should it have failed. Conclusion The whole family are very pleased with the outcome and we now have the equivalent of a brand new house that has been built to a very high standard. This has definitely been worth doing both from a valuation perspective and quality of life perspective. I would not hesitate to instruct Charlie and his team again.

He explained what work needed to be done, what he would do and was very honest about what was possible and how durable it would be. He was also very polite and respectful (he took his shoes off every time he walked around the flat without needing to be asked). I would definitely recommend him for any carpentry job.

They took out an old kitchen and replaced it with a new one - which the helped source at below market cost saving us in excess of £5000. Right from conception to finish, there was full transparency of the costs and crucially at the end, no cost overruns. Extremely Disappinted with Planetium Construction- I hired Planetium for a 59k renovation job. Initially, the workmanship was acceptable only because I supervised closely and had them redo substandard work multiple times. However, before the job has been complete, I discovered already a roof leak in the master bedroom, direcly under the newly renovated bathroom. Despite my repeated requests, Planetium refused to take responsiblity or fix the issue. Just telling me need additional charges for the work. Worst still, Adrian the owner, demanded I pay the final balance of 1840 before they would address the GF heating which stopped working after they installed the new controller. When I reasonably refused to pay before they complete the job , Adrian swore at me over the phone the most offensive language. Furthermore, they promised to replace a new Miele microwave for the one they damaged during installation but now just walked away. Leaving me unresolved issues and additional repair cost!

George has worked on 2 projects with me so far. He's my go too builder and I'd recommend him above anyone else. The project we worked on together included a loft and extension on one project and another loft and extension on another. Both projects were stripped right back and the finished product was brilliant. George is on-site every day and runs the job in a professional manor. Works well with neighbours and keeps the area clean as well. His workmanship is great but his carpentry skills are on another level. He'll make wardrobes fit stairs etc. the finishing on his projects are sensational. A must hire!

Tiling bathroom wall uneven walls ,removing tiles from bathroom floor ,putting in underfloor heating and retiling. Removing and replacing toilet pan. Installing a new extraction fan in bathroom . Great communicator ,explains what he is doing every step of the way ,extremely polite ,great attention to detail takes great care not to damage existing property ,unlike so many builders . Very skilled and knows what he is doing. More than happy with work done so far ,would highly recommend . I would gladly have him do other jobs needing doing .

I asked Prohaus to undertake a ground floor side return and rear extension as part of the refurbishment of my flat in Putney. I have used many builders before on development projects but was especially impressed with Naz and his team on this build. It was the first time I used them and won’t be the last. Naz was great to work with, the whole build went smoothly and he always had a positive attitude and solution to any unexpected issue. The build came in on time and budget which was very impressive in itself. All in all I would highly recommend him.

A very positive experience. We are not going to say everything was plain sailing. We got there in the end. Arick & Greg, the joiners were especially brilliant. Office communication could be improved at times and the office could be more pro-active. All of the others Duanne, Wesley and Rocky were great. There are a few things ourselves we have to do but now have a extra room in which to live and work. The guys put in long hours and put up with interruptions from our three dogs. Arick & Greg work incredibly hard and put in long hours ; much more then perhaps anyone else we have seen. It is always difficult dealing with things at a distance and we appreciate the office sorting things out when minor issues have arisen (we know they have changed some of their procedures because of us!). Overall it has been a very positive experience. Just glad that soon things will be completely finished and our new floor will no longer be like a building site. We believe we have added value to our house with the help of econoloft and our looking forward to moving in soon.

We were initially very impressed with Vilmos's work and communications with him. However, he has not completed the work and has been uncontactable since end Aug 2017. Vilmos identified and fixed a lot of errors made by a previous builder such as leaks in the bathrooms. He carried out works as requested by building control and as far as we can see these works were completed. We were especially happy with our communications with him as we were based overseas. The final step is for Vilmos to meet with the building control and get the building works signed off. However, Vilmos has suddenly become uncontactable via phone and email and has not contacted building control to carry out the final step.

Jon was able to take a failed project from a previous contractor and manage historic building preservation, regulation in Westminster, a lack of parking, plumbing from the Victorian age, and a demanding client to deliver a beautiful result. I love my garden flat extension, it manages to respect the historic nature of a building from the 1840s while also adding amenities to be proud of in 2025.
