I also work in bespoke furniture making, bringing to life what people want, built in wardrobe, tables, beds etc. My name is Perri, I am a skilled carpenter with 10 years of experience. The early part of my years being in both first and second fit carpentry and in the later years transitioned into bespoke furniture making, please take a look at the gallery to see some of the projects I have completed. This was always a passion of mine and was making furniture many years before it became my primary professional focus. I have worked in the construction industry coming up to 15 years, a large portion of that was with a building company that worked on small projects such as kitchen/bathroom installation to large projects such as loft conversions and wrap round extensions. This has allowed me to gain a lot of experience in many different building professions and work on a wide range of different property types. This passion became a business in 2019 during the COVID Pandemic when I was unable to work and needed something to occupy my mind and keep me busy. Later in 2019 I was able to return to work but continued to accept small projects and grow the business in my spare time. In April of 2022, I decided to leave my job and work full time on CliveCrafts. I have not looked back since! A big part of my company ethos is customer service, and I strive to make any job I attend be a pleasant experience for all customers. We struggled to get anyone interested in our refurbishment project originally, Mark answered an ad for a small part of the job and ended up being able to take on the whole thing thankfully. Our project was to completely strip out a 1960's maisonette flat, install internal insulation which involved extensive battening of all the external walls, new plasterboarding & plastering finishes to walls and ceilings, tiling and a completely new bathroom and kitchen install. To complicate things further, as enthusiastic DIY-ers we wanted to do lots of works ourselves as well and few builders would have worked alongside novices as well as Mark did. He was always happy to give advice or take over works when we realised they were beyond our skills or time ;-) Our project was constantly evolving and challenging - as we discovered hidden rotting floor joists and the joys of 60's engineering - door lintels - who needs those?! Mark was always there to help us problem solve and get the job done professionally and to high standards and this was all done throughout the challenging last year of lockdowns etc. Without hesitation we'd recommend Mark and his team. He was always reliable, flexible as the project developed and had excellent attention to detail and we couldn't have completed our project without him. Thank you Mark!

I initially hired a contractor based on a personal recommendation, however I soon lived to regret this decision. I then contacted UR BUILDERS who picked up from where the previous contractor left of. The previous builder caused an awful lot of damage to the property and had made a long list of mistakes leaving my property unsafe and inhabitable. Gurpreet took the time to evaluate the situation and provided an itemised schedule of work required to put the job right and to complete the build. This included structural support for chimney, extending pipe work to Reinstate boiler so we had hot water and heating, Superstructure, drains, concrete floor including excavation with DPM, partitions, velux windows, first fit electrics and plastering. The team worked tirelessly, navigating issues with building control in the process. Gurpreet and his team worked through wind, rain in the cold of December to enable me to return to my home. The team are hardworking 6 days a week and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. I was unable to complete the job with UR BUILDERS due to budget constraints.

John Wardle and his crew did a magnificent job on our bath and shower rooms. We took a chance on Johnny, as being new to My Builder he didn’t have any reviews. Johnny’s assurance that he only did one job at a time was a big plus. Johnny tackles everything with an engineer’s eye. Our bathrooms job turned out to be far more difficult than first thought. Our very quirky stable conversion, last updated decades ago, was challenging. Once the work started it was discovered that the old Velux windows in the bathroom had been secretly leaking behind the tiles for years causing water damage to the joists and walls. A sheet of glass was discovered sandwiched in the stud wall and tiles had been tiled on top of tiles! It was very distressing to see walls, floors and ceilings having to be torn down to fix the problems, but it was comforting to know that Johnny and his crew knew exactly how to do the best restoration job. Johnny contracted in electricians and a heating engineer and organised things so that everything ran smoothly. Everyone worked really well together. All those working in our house were a pleasure to have around: they worked hard, were respectful and friendly. Having confidence in those doing the work made a potentially unbearably stressful situation a lot easier to cope with. We now have a fantastic bathroom and shower room which exceed our original expectations. We are very grateful to John Wardle and his crew and have no hesitation in highly recommending them.

Dave quoted me a very reasonable price for a fiddly job of integrating our microwave between metal plinths. He came by and proposed a couple of solutions until he found the best one and implemented it seamlessly. As a perfectionist, he also aligned one of the kitchen unit doors so things do not look out of place. He was super friendly and very efficient. I highly recommend him and will be using his services again in the near future.
