Got about half way through the job, and then abandoned it, we have not been able to get in contact for months. So have given up with him.

Wish these latest reviews had been posted before I hired this company to fix a leak in my ceiling a few months ago as I would have steered well clear and advise anyone else thinking of hiring this man to avoid at all costs. Came out initially and sorted the job quickly and seemed like a really nice guy - chatting to my family and talking the talk. Even came straight back the next day when the leak had returned and fixed with no issue. Fast forward a few months and we noticed the leak had started again so we contacted him to come and sort it as he had promised work was guaranteed for 12 months. He arranged to come out 4 times and each time a new excuse was made the night before or morning of which I took his word as being genuine. However, now it had resorted to ignoring messages completely and leaving us with a leaking ceiling for almost a month. We are now having to hire another plumber to fix this problem.

I strongly advise caution before hiring this tradesman. My experience sadly matches the last few reviews left here. From the outset, the work was problematic. A leak has been present since the job was started in March and, despite raising this, it has never been rectified. I also never received materials I paid for, leaving me out of pocket. Like others have said, the excuses for not turning up were constant — I estimate 10–20 visits were arranged and then cancelled. The bathroom was never finished, and despite attempts to contact Chris, all of my communications have been ignored. It has become clear from my dealings with him that he is dishonest and not transparent in his pricing or conduct. I believe he knowingly misled me and took advantage. This whole situation has caused significant financial strain, which is why it has taken me until now to leave this review. In my opinion, this was not just bad service but outright deceit, and I would not recommend him to anyone.

We were contacted by this person after posting our job online. He quoted £2,000 for a bathroom job and asked for £1,500 upfront to buy materials. He claimed the job would take two days and said he’d done the same for his mum which was a lie. He turned up at random hours, worked 1–2 hours a day, dragged the job out over two weeks, and still didn’t finish. Parts of the bathroom were left unsafe. Despite calls and messages, he refused to return and was completely unprofessional. Then he quoted £3,000 for steps outside. My mum said she couldn’t afford it, but he pushed for a £1,500 deposit and brought a stranger to “assess” the job. He never came back. The excuses started his mum was sick, then dying, then his dog was ill. In total, he took £3,000 from my mum and delivered almost nothing. This man is a scammer. DO NOT trust him or his company. We are taking action to get our money back!

Chris Michael, who is trading under Jack Lewis’ name was totally unreliable. Hardly ever turned up as planned. Deceitful in saying he’d got supplies we paid for but hadn’t. The job which should have only taken 4 days he led us to believe is still not complete after over 2 months. We are having to get another plumber. He can talk the talk and drew us in but he didn’t walk the walk.

Good man. Probably will do more jobs with him :)

Carried out the repair very quickly

Absolutely wonderful. In and out less than 12 hours after I listed the job. Very polite and helpful. Will definitely be getting these guys back in soon when I have my next jobs to be done

Affordable price and good availability

Excellent - came to look at and quote for the job quickly, then managed to fit us in during the same week. Completed to a high standard and for a very fair price. Would highly recommend.
