We appointed Matt for our two storey extension roof including all carpentry and roofing work. Matt is struggling with carpentry work. As our extension roof is fairly large with one flat roof in the middle and two pitched roofs to both sides of flat section, he had no suitable tools and skills to complete woodwork and cut the roof. We, as building engineers, have to give him extensive guidance on roof woodworks. In the end we had to let him go after he drilled a wrong hole on our new roof when fitting a sun tunnel, despite our clear guidance on where we want our sun tunnel to be.We ended up patching holes in our roof and fitted the sun tunnel ourselves. Matt appeared to be ok with flat roof section. He is a hard working man, willing to work late. But he should know his limits and not take on jobs which he can not competently fulfil.
