Refelting and retiling now completed satisfactorily following robust discussions on site around doing the right job to the right standards specified in the Code of Practice (BS5534) for roofing work and to meet my expectations.
I would judge Millington and Sons as OK for small scale jobbing work but would require much more than Craig’s cheerful ‘trust me’ big handful assurances to contract with him for bigger projects needing planning, materials specification and scheduling of supply where the devil is inevitably in the detail. In my book, planning and preparation are key to good performance and this job was marked by too much reaction to circumstances for my liking.
The and ‘Sons’ business designation is somewhat of a smoke screen for a one van two man operation. Whilst I wish Craig well if he aspires to build a family legacy for his young children, from experience here I feel he has a way to go if that is his aim.
