    Chimney sweep, gas disconnection

Well I can't comment on any work done by PGN as he never turned up despite telling me FOUR times he would. Not professional when you can't even turn up to do a quote.

    Answer from tradesperson:

Well if you would have been in on the date we arranged we wouldn't have this problem would we you work nights I work days how can I get too see you

Open up brick chimney for an Open Fire

Paul was a credit to the trade. He was honest, gave professional advice and was very competitive on price. He worked very hard all day to get the job done. I would definitely recommend Paul to anyone for providing a great service from start to finish. We started thinking we wanted an open inglenook but after advice and Paul looking at our chimney, we went and bought a restored cast iron fireplace which looks better than we could ever have imagined. Lovely real fire, just need to finish the redecoration, it's been a big job but we are getting there. Thank you once again, very happy customer.

Chimney Liner installation for open fire
Great service. Paul responded promptly & willing to get stuck in to a job that wasn't straifhtforwArd and which some other heating engineers wouldn't go near. It involved installing a flue liner in a Victorian chimney with. Known bends and blockages. Paul did a great job, cleared up after himself and was very straightforward to deal with. Would recommend without qualification.

    HETAS certificate
Very good service. Couldn't progress with the job in the end due to problems at my end but came out twice free of charge and picked me up the suitable gear for the job. Cant argue with that!

Fitting wood burning stove, re-opening chimney
Paul has been brilliant, despite what proved to be a challenging installation of a second hand stove. He persisted until the job was completed: I'm sure lots of people would have given up. I have no hesitation in recommending him - he has been polite and professional plus he's a lovely guy.

    Installation of new woodburner

I wanted an inset woodburner taking out. I have a big granite fire surround and hearth with decorative tiles down the side. I wanted to keep the surround and hearth so Paul sent me a quote, which was very good, and he came round and started to get to work. He very carefully removed the whole fireplace and took out the woodburner, then he knocked out part of the chimney breast, which was a massive job in itself. The amount of rubble, dust and bricks was unbelievable. A new concrete lintel was put in place, a new flue liner, additional pieces of matching granite at the back of the hearth to cover the bare surface, and fireboard inside the interior of the chimney breast. Then the new stove went in, and the fire surround put back, and it looks fabulous. Paul cleaned up any mess and left everything clean and tidy. I would highly recommend PGN to anyone, they arrive when they say they will, don't waste time, and just get on with the job. They worked non-stop until the job was finished which, in total, took 2 days from start to finish and I reckon that was pretty good going, given the size of the job. Very happy.
