Our house has a new roof, fascia, guttering and downpipes, but we somehow had damp getting in along the top of the front bedroom and back bedroom walls, causing dark patches and sticky wallpaper. In heavy rain, I went out and identified two leaks in the guttering that needed fixing, and posted this job on Mybuilder. Patrick responded very quickly. He repaired the two gaps in the guttering with lead, cemented a crack in the point of the house, checked all three downpipes and confirmed they were fine and not blocked. Altogether the work took about an hour and was £260. They were polite and courteous at all times. We had a warm, dry spell for a while afterwards, and the bedroom wall began to feel dry and not sticky anymore. With the recent heavy rain, though, the damp has unfortunately come back and you can see the dark patches again and the painted wallpaper feels sticky again. So I think it must be some other underlying problem but not sure what to do as I've already spent all I can afford.
