This extension has transformed our house and improved our property enormously. Throughout the process John has been consistently clear about what needed to be done, accurate about the pricing and spot on about how long it would take to completely finish. He was happy to contact the local authority to ensure that they were satisfied with the work. Having a build is stressful but John has always done everything he can to solve problems and has ensured all the final details have been finished off to our satisfaction, remaining in contact and coming around when necessary. The quality of the work has been high and we would recommend John for any building work you might have.

We found John through MyBuilder and from the start he was the front runner. John came and checked the house over and before he gave the quote checked the house again to be sure he gave us as accurate a figure as possible. From that moment on he was always professional, punctual, friendly and helpful. Our project was large and could’ve been very stressful but John and his whole team kept agro to a minimum and were always respectful of our home. His whole team arrived at 7.50 every morning and by 8am were working hard, regularly not finishing until 5pm. The whole team to a man worked solidly and couldn’t have been more courteous and considerate. The other professionals he brought in, electricians and plumbers were also very helpful. Our job consisted of a garage demolition, a three-roomed ground floor extension, new porch, new boiler, rear steps, new tiles in the gable and between the bay windows, new guttering, new porch, two rooms knocked together and re-plastered, new windows and French door installation, tiling in a new kitchen and two new bathrooms, a full rewire of the existing house, a bespoke wooden garage door, removal of a front garden wall and full kitchen and bathroom installations. This was a big job lasting in total about 5 months and we never had a cross word with John or any of his team and John was always clear about budget, how much we were spending and how much extra elements would cost if we requested them. He also offered advice on aesthetic choices and guided us when we were unsure. We would have no hesitation recommending John and his team (Marek, Tony and Darryl) for any interior or exterior work, we already have plenty of other jobs in the pipeline for John and his team to do! If you want a friendly, reliable, professional and trustworthy builder then John Sandars is most definitely your man. He gets full marks from us.

We hired John to do fairly extensive work on our house including putting 2 new en suite bathrooms in. John was professional, diligent and finished things to a very high standard. I have recommended him to my friends and would use him again in an instant

Have only great things to say about John and his team. I needed a new kitchen and bathroom fitting, walls taking down and new ones put up in an old Victorian terrace. John gave a competitive quote- not cheapest and not most expensive but I could tell he knew exactly what the job required and could already give me good advice about what would work and what I should avoid, which was very welcome. There were a few hiccups on the way, which you get with old houses, for example the old bathroom pipes were concreted in and the chimney breast was in need of serious support if we moved it, but John helped me thnk through options of this and gave some excellent ideas. The bathroom and kitchen were fitted in 2 weeks I think, with his team working all hours and weekends to help meet my deadlines and it is a fantastic job- I would be happy to talk/share photos with any prospective buyers. Last month I asked him back to replace my stair bannister and build a hallway  cupboard- again, completed on time, to an excellent standard. I would heartily recommend John for any job he says he can do- he is a skilled carpenter, fitter, has contacts who are qualified plumbers and electricians that he can bring in and can give really good, practical advice.

John helped us renovate our large duplex apartment. This involved knocking walls, plastering & decorating, installing a new kitchen, building and installing a new shower room, replacing the entire bathroom and tiles, and many more smaller items, all done to very high standards. John is a diamond within the trade and feel lucky we had him for our job. We warmed to John the first time we met him and we were not disappointed. We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending John for other jobs which match the skill set for which he demonstrated to us. a) Always himself, honest and punctual - was never 'away doing another job' unexpectedly. b) Wanted to please his customer above getting the job done. c) Took pride in his work, a perfectionist. d) Added worthwhile opinions and advice to our plans. e) New his trade very well. f) Managed the relationship with painters, electrician, plumber, residents and management company of the block exceptionally well. g) Kept us informed of any changes to the plan. h) Kept track of additional costings to the job above the original quote, given we added more work to the job after the original spec. i) Very competitive price - you are dealing with the tradesman, no middle man here. Above all, after a few weeks into the job, he gave us peace of mind that things were going to be ok!

John did an excellent job providing and installing a new external door and rehanging another for a reasonable price. He was very quick to respond, easy to deal with and I'm very pleased with the results.

John was fantastic! He did a last minute job for us and had to rush around sourcing materials etc. He was amazing at keeping in contact whilst on the job. The work he did was to a great standard. We should have agreed a price from the start but it only went slightly over budget. Will use John again! ;-)

Really pleased with the job done on the windows, will def use again. Pricing was also very competitive.
