    Install loft insulation in two victorian terrace houses

    I employed insulation experts as they offered a thicker insulation than another company for about the same money and could do the work promptly and on weekend. The price quoted was approximate and based on the number of rolls of Knauf. The job turned out to be more expensive as more rolls were used. However, according to the photos sent promptly - along with the certificate of insulation - the work seems to be done to a high standard and Jamie was able and willing to work round stuff left in the loft. It's important to know that the company prefer to be paid on the day that the work is completed. However, they understood the limits of the weekend and me not able to be on site.

    Loft insulation

    This job was carried out at a tenants flat and I was not present on the day. All started well and sounded good on the phone. Job was done on the day agreed, but a hole was made in the hallway ceiling. I was bombarded with phone calls and emails requesting payment that afternoon and evening but no mention was made of the hole in the ceiling (which had been repaired but not painted). I made an on account payment of about 80% of the job quoted price. Jamie could only return to finish the job two weeks later. On completion of the job I was again bombarded with phone calls and emails threatening court action, the same afternoon and into the evening and next morning. The only reason payment had not been made was that I was busy at work and the balance was only £200. I made the payment the next day after the work was completed. Cant do business with people that are so paranoid and can't wait 24hrs to get paid. Would never use them again just for that reason alone.

    Answer from tradesperson:

    All started very well, john very friendly on the phone etc, he wasn’t that busy while i was doing the job on the day as was on the phone constantly. On going into the loft when we put insulation in the loft we found out there had been a major water leak which resulted in one of the rolls that was laid down made a hole in the ceilings, we inspected and photographed all ceilings which were all heavily cracked and bowed, the ceiling with the hole in wasn’t even attached to the ceiling joist as was in such disrepair which we wasn’t informed about prior to job starting. We also arranged a revisit the same week but was told nobody would be there! As for payment as all my other clients have paid on the day as i supply everything at my cost before i start the job once completed my invoices state i expect payment on the day work has been completed not as and when you feel like it. Also after work was completed John turned his phone off and ignored all requests for payment on both occasions, its not much to ask to be paid in full for work completed to be paid on the day after we incur all costs out of our own pocket as we are a small family run reliable trustworthy honest company. As you can see from over 90 positive experiences but you always get one! In my opinion i would avoid all business with John Coyne!

    Install installation in loft

    Jamie Lake and his partner arrived on time and completed the work in a timely and efficient manner. Jamie also advised me on other issues that need seeing to in the house. He and his partner are very professional and very friendly.

    Cosier winter

    Up front detailed invoice. Punctual, efficient, cheerful and effective. Great service; nothing was too much trouble. Great value for money. Wouuld recommend heartily.

    Replacement of fibreglass loft insulation

    Jamie and his two sons did a fantastic job of insulating our large loft on a very hot date. Very polite and tidy - a real pleasure to work with.

    Increase loft insulation to 270+ mm

    Jamie and his two lads were punctual and efficient, very quick, obviously had done this many times before. Got a new EPC done which confirmed the new insulation level (obviously you can see it with your own eyes but it was nice to have it officially on a government website too!). Anyway, not the cheapest but sometimes you get what you pay for, and I'm happy with the workmanship and speed.

    Install loft floor insulation

    Jamie and his son worked hard on a very hot day. They changed my halogen bulbs and fixtures to LED. They were the only ones who asked me about ceiling lights. If I had gone with someone else the halogen may have damaged the insulation material. Within an hour of finishing, I already noticed my home was cooler than before. They may not be the cheapest, but as Jamie told me, they are the best.

    Replacing Existing Loft Insulation with New Insulation

    Work carried out as instructed and on some very hot days. Great job, good team and delivered on time. Many thanks and apologies for the delay in providing a response for the job carried out in June. Definitely recommend. Martin
