What a fantastic company to work with! We found them on MyBuilder.Com and from our first meeting with Sean he was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and attentive to our requirements. He assessed and measured for the job and then came back to talk us through the quote, step by step in meticulous detail. Every aspect was confirmed in writing, we received a fixed quote (which did not change) with an easy to follow payment plan, all of which gave us the confidence to proceed with Sean. All the team were excellent from ground work, brick layers, electricians, plumbers, plasterers and joiners. They were easy to talk to, a pleasure to have in our home and they completely understood what we wanted. We were kept updated and consulted at every stage of the build, along with our own WhatsApp group. This open communication was definitely an unexpected but added benefit. Sean, Tim, Norman, Carlos, Wasyl and everyone we met are such great ambassadors for this company. We are delighted with every aspect of our new extension, the quality is faultless and we looking forward to using it for many years to come. It is particularly satisfying that we have already had comments from Neighbours and friends about how good the extension looks, that it looks like it has been there for ages and this purely because of the excellent workmanship and the bricks sourced by Sean that blend in so well. We would not hesitate to contact Sean again for future projects.

Sean Higgins is the perfect answer to anyone wishing to start a building project, particularly if your technical knowledge is limited. He has the most straightforward approach that you could wish for and presents all the information in a simple and easily understood way. He listens to all your requirements and concerns and explains how the work will be done in great detail. Although I had 28 years previous experience in construction, I realised I was out of touch and was worried that I could be out of my depth in taking on this project. He allayed my fears and made myself and my wife confident of an easy passage. He quotes a FIXED price, no extras or unforseen circumstances to come later. A detailed schedule for the work with start and finish dates and a staged payment plan are also included. He is personable and a good communicator and if you need a builder in whom you can have a good relationship and complete trust, I would recommend him to anyone without a second thought.

Really pleased with our ground floor kitchen extension. Communication from Sean was excellent from start to finish. He is also extremely organised so we knew exactly where we were up to throughout the process. His team were really friendly and reliable and did a fantastic job. Wouldn't hesitate recommending to friends and family.

Sean Higgins and the whole of the Focus Builders team did an excellent job. The first job I.e. the single storey extension for a downstairs bathroom has just been completed to our full satisfaction. The extension was designed and built by the team. The drawings were prepared and once we approved the design, which was a straightforward process, the groundworks commenced. The fixed price quote was competitive and the final total payment was exactly in line with the quote. The payments were made on weekly installments based on pre-defined payment schedule. Sean kept us informed at each stage of the work, letting us know who would be coming to do the different tasks. The communication lines, through WhatsApp and by 'phone were always open and we were able to discuss aspects of the job as it progressed. The quality of the work was very high through great care and attention in the groundwork phase, precise brick matching to the front and side of the house, to careful plumbing and electrical work and finally the installation of the bathroom suite. The tiling is quite stunning and sets the room off beautifully and the large, walk in shower is above expectation. A great job all round and I would have no hesitation in recommending Focus Builders for top quality extension work.

Sean and the team have just finished our single storey kitchen extension and we couldn’t be happier with the finished product and with our choice of builder. The best thing about working with Sean and his team has been the fantastic communication (which we have not experienced with any other builder), fixed price quotation system, detailed quote of includes AND excludes, and complete transparency throughout, keeping us included with every decision. Tim identified an issue with the architect’s design and explained that the floor level and extension projection would have given us a very short set of bi-fold doors. They worked with us to come up with a solution and went over and above to source the correct lintel for the altered design. I expect a lot of builders would not have spotted the problem in advance. Sean spent an incredible amount of time with us including two site visits (pre-deposit) to discuss the plans. His knowledge of the trade is outstanding and gave us realistic expectations (time and financial). Sean's team is 100% reliable, honest and friendly; Sean communicated with myself and my partner via a group Whatapp which was fantastic to keep updated. If we ever needed another extension we wouldn’t hesitate to call Sean again. Home building work is not easy but to have Sean navigate us through it start to finish was worth every penny. We hired Sean Higgins to develop and produce our new back extension; increasing the size of our existing kitchen space, adding an additional back room, and designing, building, and installing a fully fitted new kitchen. We have had a lot of experiences with builders over the years, without a doubt the one we've had with Focus has been our absolute best; I cannot recommend them highly enough. Sean and his team are all fantastic people, and all have done high quality work in an amazingly efficient time frame. They have been extremely flexible, happy to have as many meetings as we need, taking us down to the warehouse to put together the design for the new kitchen, and working around our garden refurbishment that was happening simultaneously. The job ended up including a full house rewire, and electrical certificates for existing work on our garden room; this could have been a major problem, halting work on the property for a couple of weeks, but Sean was an absolute gent and sorted it out, giving us a very fair price so that we had the best result possible within our budget. The price was negotiated well in advance of the work (we found it very fair considering the quality of the finished job), and were very clear from the outset what was included and what was extra. They also were an invaluable source of advice and assistance for us for our own house projects. All around, we couldn't be happier with what they have done for us. Amazing stuff guys. Hire them!

Sean came to our house and gave myself and my wife full and comprehensive details on all of the work he and his team would do if we decided to go ahead with the job. The costing, the time scale, a payment plan, basically everything that we needed to know was covered in great detail. He made live video calls to members of his team to show us work in progress on other jobs.. He showed us floors being laid and vaulted ceiling work in progress too. I have to say that we found Sean a very friendly and knowledgeable guy, clearly a man at the very top of his profession, who would ensure any job would be finished to a very high standard. Sean was with us for 2 hours and left us to make our final decision. After a few days we reluctantly decided against having the work done. The only reason being that we decided the work would take too much space off our already small garden. We have to say that Sean made such a favourable impression on us both, that if we at some time in the future change our minds we would have no hesitation in contacting Sean for him to do the job. Fantastic communication and professionalism from day one. Sean took the time to go through our plans thoroughly and give recommendations, all the while taking into account what we wanted to achieve. We were given a very detailed, fixed price quotation which didn’t change throughout the work, aside from when we decided to have extras added. Sean is extremely personable and we were able to contact him whenever we needed to. His team work to a high standard and were respectful of being in our home. Overall the best contractors we have come across and we would highly recommend them to anyone.

We met Sean quite a while before starting the work on our extension, as we wanted to get an idea of costing before deciding to go ahead with the build. He was very thorough and explained the process very well and gave us a set price which he organised into 10 installments for our 10 week build which suited us perfectly. A few months later we decided to go ahead with the build and Sean stuck to the agreed price plan and started the work on schedule, even though we were in the midst of a pandemic! Sean has been very helpful throughout and kept us updated, also there was a few things which I added in as the build went on and Sean and the team have done a brilliant job. Tim, Norman and the rest of the tradesmen have been fantastic, we couldn't of wanted any more from them, they started early morning and worked non stop throughout the day, always showed up when arranged and on time. I am not the easiest customer but they have been brilliantly and the service has been above and beyond expectations. We would not hesitate to recommend Sean and the team for other jobs. If we ever need any more work doing in the future we now know who to call! Thanks again 😊👍

From planning to completion ! very professional, but also very friendly. Every step of the job was explained before hand and we had daily updates via texts, photos and videos. Due to Sean's knowledge and expertise we now have the most amazing kitchen. All the team are very hard working, conscientious and polite. Thank you Focus Builders.
