Review left on 6 May 2026Rating: 3 out of 5Repair door lock(Updated on 8 May 2026)This locksmith contacted me directly by text. I asked how much his call out fee was and he said there wasn’t one. I arranged for him to come this afternoon. The call lasted 45 minutes and he required immediate payment. I had no breakdown of costs which amounted to £322. On that basis I wouldn’t recommend this man. In response to this man’s comments below, I would only say that at Tesco and Asda one would be given an itemised bill.Answer from tradesperson:
Hi you was told ÂŁ90 labour plus parts and vat which if you add ÂŁ179 to a mechanism cost then it is totally a correct charge including vat sorry if you expect your door to be fixed and no charge for parts a locksmith can only determine what parts you require once they can see them guys please send pictures in future if you are worried about pricing - ps we are running a business would you walk into Tesco Asda Argos and not pay for a product/service, please bear this in mind when we ask for payment once a job is completed.

Prices are very high for work and changing a door lock on a patio door cost ÂŁ589 which is champagne money for a non emergency job. Make sure you get costing prior to using this firm. Hi sorry you feel this way as the job was needing of two hours labour as your door was locked shut and the parts replaced were a anti snap cylinder and a door mechanism/strip which if your check prices yes they are high priced your description does not reflect this, hope you can consider this in the future many thanks. Ps a two star does not represent the quality work completed - if the price was a problem I wish you spoke with us at the time.
