We hired Jamie and his team to replace damaged felt, battons and tiles on the entire roof of our 2 bed terrace. This involed using existing and reclaimed tiles. Jamie was prompt coming to our house to look at the job. He talked us through the issue in a level of detail, picking up and running through the context, work that would and what wouldn't be needed, noticeably more thorough than others who came round to quote. This provided us with assurance that his quote would be relatively accurate. We got about 6 other quotes and his was the cheapest and most informed. Luckily he was also able to start the work within a week. He liaised with the scaffolders and made sure their work took place on specified days. As is the nature with older roofs, there was an unexpected find, once all tiles had been removed. Jamie communicated the issue before agreeing a solution with us, at little extra cost and without much delay. Overall, we are extremely happy with their workmanship. Jamie always kept us in the loop and finished the job within a reasonable timescale, considering set backs of weather. To meet his timescales and quote estimate Jamie and team worked over bank holiday weekend in very high temperatures. Guarantee provided and end receipt. Other than some poor communication concerning a delayed start date, the standard of service and quality of work carried out by Afordable Roofing was excellent. Jamie was more creative in coming up with a solution than most of the other companies we had out to survey the job and provided us with a highly competitive quote. His approach of showing and explaining the work whilst it’s in progress and once complete was also highly appreciated. Jamie and Jordan were polite, friendly and courteous and we wouldn’t hesitate to get them round to do further work in future if required.

I was very pleased with Jamie. It was a small job, so he managed to fit it in very quickly. He is a very tidy worker and explains everything that he is doing.

Jamie renovated my roof with new breathable felt and batons, relaying old tiles and replacing the broken ones. He removed all cement works and replaced with dry ridge system, and fitted all new facias and guttering and backed up his work with a fifteen year gaurantee. His quote for the job was the cheapest (of four) He gave me detailed explanations of what he would do and showed photos of his work as it was done. We had experienced leaks in 2 velux windows that were installed over 10 years ago and despite other builders/roofers talking a look, none had managed to provide a long term solution. Jamie gave us confidence by explaining what the issue was in layman terms (which confirmed our suspicions) as well as providing other options we'd not thought about. He also visited a further two times to answer more questions at short notice. He provided a detailed quote outlining exactly what we would be paying for which was very reasonable and clear. Both Jamie and Harry were very professional, courteous, hard working and tidy. We are very pleased with the job and would have no problem recommending Jamie or asking him back to undertake any further work.

Jamie gave me confidence that he knows his trade. He suggested exactly what I had already researched as my preferred option for refurbishing the roof of my house. His detailed quote showed the price of materials, scaffolding, labour etc., so I knew exactly what I was paying for and I believe it was a fair and reasonable price. As another reviewer noted (2nd Dec 2015) you may be asked to pay for materials in advance but this wasn't an issue for me. In my case I paid for the materials when the scaffolding was being erected 24 hours prior to the work starting. The balance (scaffolding and labour) was paid on completion of the work. All rubbish was taken away and the scaffolding was removed promptly the day after completion. For a couple of reasons it was a tricky project but Jamie (assisted by Harry) took care to do a good job and is justifiably proud of his workmanship. He encouraged me to inspect the completed work and to point out anything I had any concerns with. I'm sure if you weren't willing or able to go up the scaffolding yourself he would take photos to show you and to explain everything. I am very pleased with the result and communication throughout. I was provided with a written guarantee. Jamie will certainly be my first call for any future roofing work I require.

Jamie replaced all the facias, guttering, and ended up doing a complete re-roof on part of my house including tiles, felt & batons. Jamie is a decent guy who did a decent job of the roofing, facias and guttering on my house. His price was very competitive and he was able to flex in order to ensure my job was complete despite the scope of it growing somewhat. He's a sensitive soul, and can sometimes take it the wrong way when you (quite rightly) ask questions about his work. But I would absolutely recommend Jamie, as he does a good job, in good time at a good price - and he cares about the outcome. I should also say that he came back within a few hours when I asked him to for something very trivial, which I really appreciated.

Jamie and his associate did a great job replacing soffits, guttering and fascia front and back, and had a pig of a job with the verge tiles and the heat. Cleaned up after each day and removed all waste. A good tradesman and a gent.

Jamie from aFORDable roofing came to have a look at my leaking valley gutter at very short notice between Christmas & New Year, he diagnosed the problem quickly and pointed out a couple of other small problems with my roof that he could rectify at the same time. He was extremely thorough and knowledgeable and explained everything really clearly. The quote was reasonable and great communication from start to end. The repairs have been completed with the minimum of fuss in just under two weeks since first making contact - main delay was the weather. I would not hesitate to recommend him and will certainly use his services again if required.

Jamie was fast and clearly knows his roofing. There were two small issues. One he fixed without complaint. The other he agreed to fix again without complaint but we have to wait on my neighbor. Would use again.
