Lead guttering needs replacing
We first asked Simon Dreyer to replace a leaking lead gulley on our 3-bedroom 200-year-old detached house. Upon closer inspection it seemed clear that we needed to replace the 40-year old slates above the gulleys, and then it seemed best also to replace the remaining 60-year-old ones on the rest of the roof as well. The roof has two gulleys and four valleys, and his fixed-price quote was £22,092 (with VAT). He said he could start work that week, which he did. The job took two days less than one month from acceptance of the quote to removal of scaffolding. Expansion of the job caused some delays because of the need to change the slate order and to obtain a Wiltshire Council permit to erect scaffolding on a public highway. Simon always kept us informed about what work would be done and when, he used high quality materials and the standard of the work seems very high to me. He was always eager to show me what was being done at each stage of the project. The end result is a water-tight, attractive new roof in keeping with the conservation area. I would not hesitate to recommend Simon and A-class roofing and construction Ltd for similar roofing work.
