What can I say about Steve and his team. Being an ex builder and coming off a not so great experience of a loft extension was cautious in who we chose for our Kitchen extension. I chose SK Builders and their approach to our job was first class and we always had a say in how the job progressed. We had complete trust in Steve and he paid us back in spades. They worked bloody hard in the heat of last summer, always here and slogged their guts out. The work was to an excellent standard and everything was completed, ordered on time. Steve worked around our issues and helped us enormously when it came to the knock through and setting up the kitchen area for us. His team of electricians, carpenters, Paul the plumber and Simon the plasterer were first rate. And all lovely guys. Our job was outstanding and Steve and his team were thoughtful and respectful to our needs. Would easily recommend and have recommended Steve to many people asking who we used. Honestly we could not be happier with the job, which had no major issues at all. It flowed like clockwork. All and all SK Builders should be considered if you are thinking of taking this kind of project, you will not be disappointed with the results.

I’m very disappointed with the service I received. I initially hired you to fix a leak, but the same issue reoccurred just a month later. When I contacted you, you said will go on a Monday and didnt turn up, when I sent you several messages after a week you said you were in the hospital, which I completely understood and respected. However, weeks later you promised to return on a Thursday to check the problem, and you never showed up or contacted me to explain. Since then, you’ve ignored my messages entirely. This lack of responsibility and communication is unacceptable, especially when dealing with ongoing issues in someone’s home.

We hired Nicholls construction for a large extension which was a 6 month project in total. We had an overall positive experience with them very friendly and helpful. Dan and his team were on hand to explain complicated issues that arose due to our structural issues and provide solutions. Whilst we stayed living on site they took care to not cause much disturbance by building temporary walls. In terms of budget we feel they were very fair with sticking to the agreed fixed quote and happy to sign a contract. We are satisfied with the outcome and would definitely recommend them.
