I'm Ben a local and reliable handyman. My background is solar installation, roofing and electrical work - so you're in safe hands for all your DIY that you don't have time to do yourself. I also have experience plumbing, from time working at a heat pump installer, and general construction from a self-build project back in 2020. I now work part time as a renewable energy consultant, and continue the odd jobs to stay on the tools so I'm not at my desk all day.

I've worked in the construction industry since 1996. I currently work as a sole trader. My professional trades are carpentry and tiling. Both carpentry and tiling interlink and compliment each other in many areas of construction. For example: 1). Strengthening and/or adding ply to timber floors before tiling. 2). Moving doors/doorways around in kitchens, bathrooms, and en-suites. 3). kitchen fitting and alterations, including worktop changes (tile floor first, fit kitchen second, tile splash back last). 4). Moving, strengthening and constructing new walls for kitchens, bathrooms, and tile weight. 5). Tiling floors before adding or replacing contempary or traditional bathroom/hallway wall panelling/dado rails and skirtings. 6). Building a traditional bathroom or en-suite that includes both timber wall panels and tiles around bath, sink and shower. 7). Boxings, shelving and recesses in bathrooms and en-suites. Over the last 30 years, ive accumulated a unique set of skills and knowledge in construction on thousands of domestic and commercial projects, including building my own properties in my spare time. From 1999 to 2004, i worked as a building site manager on very large and complicated building projects so i understand the whole building process. I'm a 1st/2nd fix carpenter who also fits kitchens and installs any size or complex decking project. As a professional tiler I've tiled thousands of bathrooms, en-suites, kitchens, feature walls, floors... using ceramic, porcelain, travertine, marble, quarry tiles, teracotta, brick effect, and glass. I've also tiled on every conceivable surface including plasterboard, ply, screed, concrete, tile backer board... My organisation, attention to detail and standard of finish is very professional.
