I have been working in the Security installation trade for over 10 years now, I started as an apprentice where I attended college one day a week while working for a local security installation and locksmith company. Over these 5 years I became proficient in several different security installation disciplines. Ranging from domestic and small commercial CCTV/Intruder alarm installations, access control, gates, barriers, automatic garage doors and before I left in 2020 we were branching into integrated alarm and cctv installations. In 2020 i started working for a national facilities management company. This job was a based in a high secure hospital with an integrated security system. This includes, enterprise CCTV (analog and ip) intruder alarm, access control, automatic doors, laser detection, SCADA, fibre optic transmission and advanced video analytics. The job is to maintain, repair and upgrade the system, this is my current role and have been working there for the last 5.5 years. I have worked with all sorts of security installation equipment and can apply my knowledge to most situations. I pride myself on my work ethic and always strive to do the best with any job/ problem I am faced with.

Most surveyors, property managers and trade contractors misdiagnose the root cause and generally assume the problem is caused by some sort of structural defect which leads to treatments that dont work, ££££ wasted and the problem eventually returns. All too often we see treatments like brick repointing/rendering, DPC/wall injections, cleaning /replacing guttering, roof/flashing work, wall insulation linings, replastering that fail because they assume the problem is some sort of defect and have no effect on the real root cause. Furthermore, because the true root cause of damp issues stops for approx 6 months (Mar-Aug) in the UK we often see incorrect treatments that appear to work but only until the weather gets colder again later in the year. We dont do guesswork like this. Our surveys always pinpoint the true root cause which our solutions will permanently address so the problem never returns. Similarly our real-time radon measurement surveys identify concentration ranges that passive sensors cannot and our mitigation solutions are always permanently effective. In 2024 we won the H&V News Awards Building a Safer Future Award for our multiple radon mitigation design and installation work packages with Government of Jersey where we installed over 200 systems and reduced levels that were significantly above the UK Action Levels (Domestic and Commercial) to below the UK Target level.
