The electrician said the whole consumer unit needs replacement and he can do the job later. When the tripping issue repeated, we sent another electrician and he said tripping issue was not related to the consumer unit. Instead, it was caused by a loose connection within the RCD. It appears the electrician had planned to replace the entire fuse board; however, this would not have addressed the root cause of the problem. Upon removing the boxing around the fuse box for better access, the other electrician observed burn marks on the RCD, indicating that the loose connection had been causing intermittent power loss, even though all the fuses remained intact. This should have been identified during this electrician’s inspection. We spent £85 for nothing
