Hi My name is Paul the Plumber and I have over 25 years experience with in the Plumbing industry. I have used my plumbing skills to plumb in music festivals and events of up to 40000 people, complete installs of houses and commercial properties (Inc schools and hospitals), and work with SW Water and Thames water to install and fix any water meter issues or leaks, plus worked with SW Water to reduce water usage by fixing leaks in and around properties and reducing flow to taps and toilets without any pressure reductions. Plus everything in-between, there is not many tasks/jobs I have not done within the plumbing sector and to which I am confident and competent in doing. I WILL NOT GET INVOLVED IN GAS AND OIL PIPE WORK. SO PLEASE DO NOT ASK (this does not include central heating or the hot water side of any plumbing). I do not change, repair or install any gas or oil feeds. Switching them off if i deem them to be dangerous is the only task I will undertake with this pipework. I love my job and I am not doing this to be a millionaire. My normal rates for plumbing repairs, installations and/or maintenance my fees are around £65 to £80 for the first hour and £40 to £50 an hour thereafter with my day rate being £250 to £350 (all rates are plus materials). This is all depending on the location and if any risk of further damage or if I'm working in an environment that has the potential to cause injury or increased risks are involved (this is normally around long term leaks that have been going on for some time so ceilings and floors may have been weakened or areas where absoesto, vermin, sewage and Leptospirosis may be present). I try my hardest to stick to these prices. Most leaks and issues, 80% of the time I can complete within the hour. I will always give you a fixed, non committal, quote before any work is undertaken. I do guarantee my work, please discuss this with me further when using my services. Due to the years I have spent within the building industry I am competent at most building skills and handyman jobs. These I charge at different rates depending on the task. I am based around the Okehampton area and I am willing to travel around Devon and Cornwall for work so please contact me whatever job you have big or small. Fascias & Soffits- 16 May 2026
WF Homecare were prompt in coming out to quote and we initially felt confident hiring them. The front fascia, soffit and guttering were installed a few days later. As it had not rained at that point, we then proceeded with having the rear fascia, soffit and guttering replaced. However, as soon as it rained we had leaks at both the front and back. I emailed the business owner, who attempted a fix, but when it rained again the same leaks appeared. I emailed again but received no reply, and later managed to speak to him in person. A second attempt to fix the leaks was carried out, and I will see what happens in the next rainfall. There are other general standard issues, but I have focused on the main point here. Also for both jobs we paid him promptly. Yet but both jobs he emailed me within 1/4 hour of sending his invoices, chasing payment! Based on the workmanship issues, the communication difficulties, and our overall experience with the company, we would not hire WF Homecare again.

Ill start by saying the guys are polite....but unfortunately my job isnt completed. I left clear pictures of the work needing carried out....I was given a price of £650 on the phone which I agreed too....being told the work would take a day and a half roughly. Once on site....I was told they'd be done in a couple hours??? After less than an hour I get a phone call saying they cant complete the job due to the ivy being thicker than they thought and ideally needing scaffolding. This i felt could have been established before starting the job. So after one hour and removing a bag full of ivy I was charged £225....equating to £112.50 each for an hours work each!!! I was of the understanding that they were local guys only to be told their from Dartmoor! As a renovation business we turn over hundreds of thousands a year and ive never earnt £112.50 an hour!! Even the single bag of ivy removed was left. Plus im now facing a drastically larger bill to get the job completed.
