He first arrived late (7:30pm instead of 5pm) and was still using his power tools gone 10pm. The frame he built round the cupboard looked okayish so i paid him but when i tried to attach the doors they didn't fit. I asked him to come back and fix it and his answer was that the doors needed to be changed (even though they are Ikea doors made for the Ikea Pax frame). Said he'd need another £70 and then after eventually agreeing to do it for no extra charge said he'd only come back if i picked him up and gave him a lift to the station!! He ignored my next few messages so i gave up trying after that as I wasn't that keen of having him back in my house anyway. If i've asked someone to build a frame around an Ikea cupboard I don't think i should have to explicitly say that i want to be able to fit doors! I was happy to attach them myself, hence why i didn't ask him to, but they were there in big boxes (that he actually moved at one point) so it's not like he wouldn't have known i was going to be adding doors. I'd think he might think to check when deciding how to fit the frame and at the very least he could have asked. I'd suggest avoiding him at all costs. I had to ask Mybuilder to allow me to resubmit my comment as i wanted to give more detail. My first comment was very short as i don't think there's much point in slagging people off but his reply was offensive and Mybuilder had to warn him. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID unless you want to pay someone else afterwards!!!

From start to finish Sam Ayles-Vant kept me updated with detail on what would be required, how long things would take & likely impact. Sam and his colleague Joe were well mannered, conscientious and hard working. They went above and beyond to ensure that we were happy and the end result is excellent. This job was not easily achieved as multiple different tradesmen had previously failed to get the result we needed, with ramp and chalking coming through. Sam and Joe have successfully resolved the problem with my Garage floor and things are finished to a high standard. Sam provided a year guarantee to the work so only time will tell but the products chosen should stand the test of time. Thank you Sam.
