Moving to North Essex from further afield we did not have any contacts to carry out carpentry and refurbishment works to freshen up our newly purchased house, luckily we found Paul Brandl- Fine Grain Carpentry on 'My Builder' and asked him to quote for some carpentry projects. We cannot speak highly enough of Paul's skilled work and professionalism, from the very first meeting to discuss the work required, Paul went to lengths to understand the look we wanted to achieve, he also put forward some suggestions based upon his trade experience. Paul then supplied us with drawings and a quotation to carry out the works. Paul gave us a start date and timeline which he stuck to. Paul was so friendly and polite and also very respectful of the fact he was working in our home. Paul's work has been exemplary and to the highest standard from start to finish. Many people that have seen the work Paul has carried out for us, have been so impressed they have asked us for his details, for projects on their homes. Without any hesitation we really recommend Paul for any carpentry projects.

I chose Peter from a group of 3 builders who came to look at the job. Peter's quotation and scheduling were both very comprehensive and precise. Moreover, he has rigorously stuck to both. Most importantly ( for me anyway) the standard of Peter's work is exceptionally high, he attends to every little detail- clearly he is a perfectionist!. He is also a very creative thinker who will always come up with a solution to any of the those little issues that arise during building work. He is clearly very highly qualified and competent. He is also very thoughtful and considerate of the family and does his utmost to avoid disruption and mess as best he can. I had a kitchen extension built - whilst still having to use the original kitchen - and with the use of temporary walls and screens, Peter ensured I was still able to use it. I would highly recommend Peter for any building project you might be considering. Another point of interest , all of the other trades that came in ( electricians, plumbers etc) all said that they really liked working with Peter because they know that when he makes arrangements, they can take those timings to the bank ! All in all, first class work, service and commitment. Highly recommended.

Victor is an incredible carpenter. His attention to details is fantastic, he has a recommendable work ethic and fitted my Wren Kitchen exceeding my expectations. He still has to finish fitting two shelves, due to a problem with my wall that he has no responsibility for, but I couldn’t wait for him to complete the last bit to write this review as he deserves it! We needed some shelves in our living room alcoves as well as bookshelves in our spare room. Sam was able to come and visit us quickly and advised us that a bookcase/shelving unit would work better than shelves in the spare room due to the comparatively weaker wall. The price quoted was reasonable and we agreed to go ahead. Sam was able to come back in good time and measured up, constructed the bookcase and stained the wood in his yard, returning after two days to install, allowing the stain to dry. We are very pleased with the quality of the shelves. We particularly didn't want brackets so they are on batons and look fantastic. The bookcase is also perfect and very sturdily built. Generally I would say the work is to a high standard and Sam is a nice and trustworthy guy. When the invoice came it was exactly as quoted. I would definitely recommend him.
