This builder expects you to be able to list every single part of the job that needs doing. If it's not communicated through messaging that you need something doing as part of the job then he won't do it. For example - the partition wall that was put up, was not filled because he said that was not communicated in the messages. I would not know everything that should be done in order for a partition wall to look half completed. It is perfectly clear that this is a common occurrence as he repeatedly mentioned how he always shows people the messages sent back and fourth as proof of what they asked for. Bottom line - if you don't know all the tiny steps included in the job you want done then be expected to not get a full job done. He took off £100 off the agreed price due to my disbelief and disgust but this did not help as I then had to find another builder to complete what should have been completed. How can any builder put up a partition wall and not fill where plaster boards are joined

We chose SWLBC to refurbish a two-bedroom flat. This entailed complete redecoration, replacement of the flooring with a new engineered wood floor, moving old and installing new electrical sockets and light switches, running some new piping and replacing the heating system with a more modern and efficient one. The quote from SWLBC was very competitive and we are really happy with the quality of the work. The flat is transformed and it looks terrific. Ben Toone who is the proprietor of the company is very professional and helpful. He was easy to contact and responded to our questions quickly and thoroughly. Initial pre-job information was promptly and fully supplied. Helpful answers were given to any questions I subsequently raised. As for the actual job, Luke and Easton were punctual, polite, hard-working and professional. They did a great job (the trellis they replaced is solid and well fixed; the concrete fence spurs are positioned perfectly). They left the garden tidy and clean. They dealt flexibly with a glitch to do with fixing the trellis. No hassle at all. I recommend them highly.

We used Joseph to deck our garden (including digging out the previous lawn) and subsequently build a bench in to the wall and a fence on top of it. All were done to a fantastic standard by Joseph and his colleague Dan. Always arrived on time and completed work within the suggested time frame. Joseph's quote was similar to others we had, but we chose him because he seemingly had a great eye and offered some interesting stylistic advice- which we ended up following and are really happy with the results. highly recommended, thanks Joseph! tom
