11/10 - From start to finish Dan did everything he said he would. He came in with the right price (not the cheapest but not the most expensive either), agreed to do the work very quickly, turned up on time, and completed the work in the time frame as arranged, despite some really awful weather and a couple small unforeseen problems to over come too. The quality of his work is excellent, and the site was immaculate when he'd finished. I suppose the only way I can properly offer him praise would be to ask myself if I would hire him again? Absolutely, and I won't hesitate to recommend him to others as well. Cheers Dan!

I could not recommend Dale Smith. Whilst he did a reasonable job removing the fitted bedroom furniture, he did not fulfil the brief. He did not make good the walls and ceiling to an acceptable standard. It was less than a days work and I was paying him nearly £800. He fitted all the furniture into his van, ready to take to the tip. When I asked him to return to complete the job, he replied that if I didn’t pay him he would return and leave all the fitted furniture on my door step. I paid him £700 but then had to employ another tradesperson to fill the holes left in the walls and ceiling, so that I could have the room painted.

I went to great lengths to explain what needed to be done. Craig said all the right things and provided an itemised quote. When it came to doing the work Craig realised he had miscalculated the amount of soil to be taken away and tried to charge additional for this. When I pointed out that it was clearly itemised & included in the quote the attitude towards the job completely changed. They couldn’t get out of this job quick enough. I overheard things like “leave it, it’s not our problem”. Craig suggested not doing some of the remaining things and given the drastic change in attitude and general quality of work I had to agree. At the end they left a pile of soil half covering a public footpath and said it would be taken away the next day. I had to chase constantly as I was getting complaints for obstructing a public footpath – but they took no further responsibility. I also found damage to the brickwork. Inexperienced, unprofessional and overpriced. A horrible experience. Stay clear!
